Martha is an amazing character

Been waiting for this finale and you guys did not disappoint. Just getting ready to listen to your final thoughts on this episode, but first I wanted give a shout out to Miss Martha Jones. Her story arch is one of my favorites, and although she doesn’t get what she wants from the Doctor, she comes out of her adventures with him as one incredible person who can pretty much do anything she wants. Formidable is what comes to mind when I think of her now and I’m going to miss her. I also did appreciate while saying her last goodbyes that they play Murray Gold’s “Martha’s Theme”, which is still one of my all time favorites of his. That was also my reaction the first time I saw this, and it still fills me with glee every time I watch that scene, as well as the one Rosie mentioned in Utopia 😍 John Barrowman's reaction to reading that script is also delightful: https://youtu.be/Zz3aGqz_hrE Kinda agree that this is the weakest of the three eps (though I like it a lot!)...for me, I find the Gollum Doctor and the glowy light flying to be a bit cringey. But I do also think the plan was very clever and Martha is INCREDIBLE throughout. And I love the complicated relationship between the Doctor and the Master, DT and John Simm play it beautifully.

I think the script always treated Martha as the Doctor's rebound. I Freema Agyeman is an amazing actress, but I feel that the story itself diminished Martha. She was still a good character and had a concrete arc, but I didn't wanted to remember her as the rebound companion.

I understand how the Master meant so much to the Doctor as the only other living Time Lord, but I hate how Rose murdered thousands of Daleks in the s1 Finale and the Doctor was like "right-o!" but Martha was hunted down and her family was enslaved and tortured FOR A YEAR and he's like "you're better than that :((( murder is bad :((("

I was only sorta paying attention when this started (playing on my phone) and all of a sudden I went "THAT'S TOM ELLIS!" just from his voice alone. If you guys get the chance you should really start watching Lucifer if you haven't already.
