This was the first time I noticed that Bobby said Eve's been around for 10,000 years. I don't know if they just picked a number that sounded huge, but humans have been around for 100,000-300,000 years (depending on what you call "humans" but at least Anatomically Modern Humans have been around at least 100,000 years). Just struck me suddenly as kinda funny and offputting, and I was like "What?? Only 10,000 years?" when they always talk like Eve and the Alphas were around since like the dawn of man 🤷‍♀️

smh they were rly like "what great and interesting side characters can we kill for shock value and a momentary emotional pay off" instead of, i dont know, just having great side characters to flesh out your world?? (this is abt rufus tbh lol, samuels time was up) sorry if im annoying lol its just...... the show shooting itself in the foot by killing off characters with potential... unfortunately becomes a bit of a trend.

This episode reinforces that "family don't end with blood." Three people died in this episode, and two were blood relatives to Sam and Dean, but at the end we see them at Rufus's funeral with Bobby. Yes, I'm sure the Campbells got a hunter's funeral, but they ended the episode with the boys helping Bobby with his guilt/grief. It's not that Samuel didn't measure up to Bobby as a father figure; it's that he didn't measure up to Rufus as a family member. Samuel died. With Rufus, they suffered a loss

I’m weird, so of course I really, really like this episode. I hate seeing Rufus go, but I loved the direction and the overall tone. Dean constantly eyeing Samuel, like “move and I will kill you so fkng fast,” the shock at Dean just shooting Gwen in the chest, Bobby-worm’s creepy voice...lots to love. Dean killed Gwen, Sam killed Samuel, and Bobby killed Rufus. Arguably each character killed a character they didn’t personally despise, and in one case, they actually loved each other. Great reaction, guys. 💜

I know Mitch Pileggi is known for his role in X-Files, but I remember him from his first starring role as Horace Pinker, in Wes Craven's "Shocker" (1989). He played a serial killer that makes a deal with the devil to survive his execution by the electric chair. I will always love Sera Gamble (and Kripke, too) that much more for adding those little easter eggs as a tribute to their love of classic cheesy 80's horror flicks that were a staple of the GenX crowd...myself included. We had nothing else to do on the weekends but hang at the theater/mall. If I could interview Pileggi, those are the questions I would ask, as strange as that may be. HA! He and Jared hit it off pretty well during his time on SPN, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in Walker.

Sorry I am a week late to this. My life was still all consumed with all things about the series finale two days prior. I love this episode with great acting and on the edge of your seat a bit, because you cannot tel at all where the worm is at any given time. Thrilled, absolutely THRILLED to have Samuel gone, but not Rufus and Gwen. Each of the death’s was a good surprise, though I am just bummed that Dean didn’t get to kill Samuel. One downer, we are left wondering what the heck happened in Omaha.
