A lot of us watched this when we were kids and yeah everyone was scared shitless of any statue for weeks after.

I'm so glad you both enjoyed this episode as much as I did. It's one of those stand-alone episodes I sometimes show my friends even if they don't watch Doctor Who. It's just such a good overall episode

This episode is pretty perfect. I was so pleased when I realised a few weeks ago that you would reach this one and the French Mistake in Spn at the same time

great reaction! the weeping angels are hands down one of the creepiest and most memorable creatures from who. such a great episode!!

I haven’t commented on these reactions because I’m kind of a casual doctor who fan, but this episode is iconic and one of my favorites that I’ve seen!

Something that is really fun about this episode is because they don't move when we the viewer are watching as well! They are quantum locked so any living being observing them and they are stone which includes us! Even when no one in the show is looking at them, they can't move because we are! SO GOOD!

I honestly think its one of greatest stand alone sci fi stories of all time. Its brilliant. So glad you guys liked it, the writing, direction, acting, and Murray Golds score, make this episode in the top 10 (maybe even top 5) Doctor Who episodes, period. Fun fact; Moffat also came up with the Gas Mask Children, and the season 4 monster Vashda Nerada, which are probably the three scariest monsters in all of New Who.

Dan

Yes, this! This is how The Angels should always be shown. Never moving.

How cool would it have been to have Carey Mulligan as a full time companion (still love to Martha though).

I kept shouting at the screen, "it IS Carey Mulligan - IT IS CAREY MULLIGAN!!!" i guess you couldn't hear me.

My little brother showed this episode to me as the first episode when I told him I'd never watched Doctor Who before. He said it was a really good standalone episode and I didn't really need any background knowledge of the show at all, and he was dead right. It's such a good and creepy episode even for those who don't watch Doctor Who.
