Did you know the guy who plays the director is the actor Bill Murray’s Brother?

Yes! 100th episode! I hope you watch interviews about it in the future, but Jared and Jensen said this is one of the only episodes the writers ever pitched them and got their approval for. At first they were a bit confused, but were all in on two conditions. One they did a huge parody of their lives and the industry, and two, that as long as they continued to play honest portrayals of Sam and Dean the entire time. That’s why the crazy mansion with an alpaca, Gen playing a super shallow trophy wife, all the comments about them not talking because it’s quite a common thing for casts of big shows to actually hate each other but be trapped together in the success. Also when watching tangos you never see them actually break character and never doubt it’s Sam and Dean thrown into this crazy world.

This episode is gold!!! A few facts about the ep: 1) Mischa tweets quite a bit (he won Best of Twitter 2009) and sent the tweet from the episode "Ola mischamigos! J2 got me good. Really starting to feel like one of the guys." after the episode aired. 2) Jared and Jenson's bodyguard (and driver) is actually named Clif (edited. Thanks Toasted Toad) 3) Jenson's trailer and Jared's house aren't real and weren't exactly accurate (eg. aquarium, tanning bed, alpaca) but they did use Jared and Jenson's real set chairs, photos and Genevieve's real wedding ring. 4) Jared didn't know they were using his real wedding photos until the day of filming. 5) Where Dean complains that no-one really uses the word penultimate: The director of the episode Charles Beeson is British and often says penultimate 6) The stunt director is the real stunt director Lou Bollo and the guys holding Sam and Dean back from fighting are Jared and Jenson's real stunt doubles. 7) It's not the real Sera Gamble (exec. prod.) on the phone though 8) Robert Singer didn't name Bobby Singer after himself, apparently Eric Kripke did it white Robert was out of town.

This is in my top 3 for season 6 (one was Bobby’s episode and the last one is yet to come😈)! Like you guys said, it’s almost too meta, but Jared and Jensen were so solidly Sam and Dean that it really kept the episode anchored. I LOVED Misha this entire episode! When you first see him, you’re not sure if he’s Cas or Misha, but comparing his “fake Cas” to his actual Cas you can see the tiny things he does with his eyes that differentiate the two. I honestly wish they had a whole blooper reel for just this episode because I bet it would have been incredible! Personally I think the rest of the season is really good (with one thing that happens that I’m sure you’ll talk about when you get there) and I’m excited to see it with you guys!!!

I've been so looking forward to you guys watching this ep, great reaction!! All of the named BTS folks working on the show are based on real people, but I *think* Lou Bollo (the stunt coordinator) and the two stunt guys behind him, were the only ones actually playing themselves. Though it's funny - the guy playing Eric Kripke looks enough like him that to this day that is absolutely who I picture whenever anyone mentions Eric Kripke 😂 The character Bobby Singer was originally, IIRC, supposed to be Bobby Manners (named after Bob Singer and Kim Manners), but they couldn't clear that name, so Bobby Singer is what it ended up being. The Jared & Jensen not talking is just a joke about actors working together not getting along generally, but not about their relationship specifically. Thankfully, or we would have lost out on SO MANY great convention videos 😂

Thanks I forgot that detail, I'll edit it in

Episode 119, not 100. That was ‘Point of No Return’ where Dean almost said yes to Michael.

This is definitely a top 10 episode of the series! when I first binged the show I was not expecting it, and had to google all the details of the humor, since there is so much. It is one of my favorites to rewatch, because I feel like I pick up a new detail every time.
