You finally experienced famous ep 19 of demon slayer. Based on your reaction and commentarty we did not overhype it , huh. Honestly this to me was and is the best episode of the entire show. How they tied thematic relavance to Tanjiros and Nezukos bond how masterfully they used flashbacks and even power up that came out of nowhere was not a big issue because the execution of the ep is so good . Just on technical merits is either the best animated /directed episode of last year or the second best just falling a bit under another show. Just sheer animation and cgi blending with dynamic camera and effects work is staggering . And of course the music build up , from instrumental to full blown actual song during climax was really clever move . And of course they nailed the emotional investment and storytelling , it had punch , it felt earned everything just worked flawlessly . Youre absolutely right , this is perfect example of what an anime medium can do, or at least in shounen battle genre , What highs it can achieve depending on masterful execution . Like theres nothing to nit pic about this episode lol. Its just so damn good

Ahhh I’ve been waiting for this one!! Yes this is definitely the episode ppl were hyping you up for. When I first watched this I was on the verge of tears and then when it faded to the credits and the first picture popped up of him and his dad I started sobbing. Lol I’m glad you caught the tie-in with Shinobu (butterfly kimono) and the “life images flashing before your eyes” story. I think it was the perfect way to explain how/why tanjiro suddenly remembered the hinokami kagura(japanese for “dance”) and breathing technique his father taught him as a small child that he had put away in the back of his mind. Rather than just explaining it with exposition. I am forever in awe of the execution of this episode and the fight at the very end. The music track that plays from the flashback to the end is called “Kamado Tanjiro No Uta” if you ever want to look it up. The lyrics will probably make you cry all over again. Lol One of my favorite episodes of any anime ever.
