“Hooray, I see the Reel Rejects have posted!” Oh it’s this episode :( Well, here’s hoping you can make me like it more with your insights and humor 🤞

YES! There's a missing beat in the episode, and it's almost like it feels intentional. We are used to connecting the MOTW episodes to Sam and Dean, or at least one of them. This episode was supposed to connect us to Lisa and Ben, except we couldn't because Dean was too focused on Sam to hone in on it more. Like I said...by design. It leaves you feeling like you can't remember if you turned off the iron before you left the house! HA! It's one thing to tell a great story, but to leave us feeling the way we are right now...? Genius. ETA: A lot of people don't like this episode because of the creep factor, and I get that. IT IS creepy. But knowing how Gamble's mind works to some extent, and how she is constantly pushing those boundaries (hello...YOU on Netflix anyone..?) it bothers me less these days than it once did. Part of the point is that everything is weird because of Sam being soulless, and even though Dean keeps reminding Sam how "off" he is, Dean is just as affected by it and off himself. This episode really shows us that.

The vimeo links aren't working for me?

Hey guys, sorry for the trouble! I think something got tweaked in the privacy settings that had these hidden, initially. Went ahead and updated the privacy settings, so you should be able to view both of them now!

Ahhh. The episode many people Really don't like. I don't dislike it as much as others, but I do admit that it's an odd one and not easy to actually like. It seems as if we're supposed to "like" the dude that became the family's protector instead of turning on them. But, um. It's also creepy that the dude just full on ogled the woman while he was in dog form! And she had no idea! No that's just wrong and not an admirable quality. So I'm not feeling sorry one bit for him. At all. If they wanted us to feel compassion for that dude , as another "good" monster, they, missed their mark.

This one was one of my least favorite from this season, although I appreciated your insight on it, as always! I don’t really know what it was that was off about this episode. I loved the Sam stuff. I think you’ve discussed how being soulless works in other videos and how it seems like Sam still “feels” things. I love that this episode finally clears up a bit of the confusion in that area. Now he’s admitted that he doesn’t care and it makes his behaviors and choices much more understandable. Two things that maybe made it a bit off for me was the Lucky character and how they were trying to parallel the mom and her kid to Lisa and Ben. I guess the relationship between Lucky and his family is still unclear. Like he cares about them, obviously, but in what way? Like he’s sleeping in the bed with the mom and licking her and creeping on her in the shower, but it’s not ever stated if he has “romantic” feelings toward her (either way, ick). So you’re trying to empathize with this guy but it feels...wrong? Idk. Tbh I wish they would’ve scrapped paralleling Lisa and Ben and added something else to make Lucky’s intentions/feelings more clear. Like maybe during the shower bit have him turn and lay in the doorway like he was protecting her instead of having him be pervy. And maybe they could’ve had the human Lucky interacting with the mom, like as friends or just someone she knows. Idk if that would’ve helped or just made it more creepy, but it would’ve added a different layer to the whole thing maybe. Oh well, that one’s over and done with. I am excited about the next one! I think/hope it’ll be a bit more enjoyable for you guys and everyone.

You nailed it. It was meant to be offputting and wrong to feel empathy for this guy. This entire episode was off kilter start to finish. On purpose. ;) For instance, if Sam had his soul, he would have been the first one to call out the guy for his pervy BS. It would have set an entirely different tone for the episode.

I love your reactions; you guys really analyze each episode thoroughly. I usually don't like reaction videos because people don't really give thoughtful commentary (if they give commentary at all.) You are the only reaction channel I watch because y'all actually offer interesting thoughts and give everything its due. You're also literally the only Patreon I'm subscribed to because your reviews are worth it in my opinion, even when the episode may not be the best. And its so great to see your reactions to Supernatural, because I basically grew up watching it. Thanks guys! (also... you guys should react to more J2M panels! I know you have a lot to do but those are fun.)

I can’t wait to watch this. I haaaate this episode and definitely think Supernatural and dogs just don’t go together, but I’m interested in what y’all thought. I enjoy your unique perspectives and recall of the details. And it looks like, from the comments, y’all will offer something different. Instead of skipping this, I’m gonna watch now :) But tomorrow bc it’s late. 🥱

I watched it, which was hard because I dislike it so much. Just too creepy that a homeless man is turned into a skinwalker, and then he watches her sleep and shower...yuck. Glad y’all didn’t hate it!

I'm glad you pointed out Jared Padalecki's performance. His take on doing Souless!Sam is one of my favorite parts of the series. I would love to see what he could do as a major villain someday.
