Supernatural Season 6 Episode 3

Comments

Jennifer Lundstrom

Another episode where I'm so surprised at the amount of horror/grossness that Supernatural gets away with on TV! Love it!

Kristin Dorner

I don’t mind season six as much as most SPN fans seem to. There are some incredible episodes, but I get some of the dislike of the season based on certain paths that are taken. I think this season and next season, for me at least, are my least favorite, but tbh that just goes to show how incredible the rest of the seasons are because they’re really not that bad. I think some of the fans that aggressively dislike this season expected so much because 4 and 5 were so good and 6 isn’t quite at that level (not in the same way, anyway). Having really low expectations may actually make watching season 6 and 7 a lot more enjoyable. Love your reactions/discussions as usual! Excited for next week!

I agree that I like where they are taking Castiel's story line. It's one of my favorite things about this season. And while this season gives me mixed feelings, it's not my least favorite, and I can still relatively enjoy rewatching it as many times as I have. I can't say what really brings the season down for me without spoiling, but ironically, the thing I don't enjoy eventually leads to one of my favorite things about season 7. It's a price I'm willing to pay.

Not sure if that was the reason you talked about The Boys, but Jensen is joining it's 3rd season! Which made me finally start season 1 lol About the ep- I really like this one! And there are quite a few great episodes this season I'm really looking forward to. As I've said before, I think the main problem with this season is the overarching plotline (the Mytharc) which I personally was let down by in some ways, though there were still some things I really liked about it (I'm trying to be vague because spoilers lol). For me, seasons 7 and 12 are probably the weakest, but even there you can find some really great mini-arcs/solo eps. Anyway, great reaction as always! Definitely good to have Cas back! Oh and you talked about Cas's new purpose as of the end of season 5- he told Dean he believes God brought him back so he could basically bring the new world order to Heaven :)

Ugh - the internet is crappy wherever I go today. Or, there's too many people using it. This is my 4th attempt! Grrr

Mishalangelo's Apprentice

I was waiting for this episode! It will take more than 4 years if you keep on one ep for week, I know you guys really busy but it can be harder to avoid spoiler about show's end in 4 years, people will be more loose about it in internet. Finishing before The Boys s3 can be nice. Also please look out for the next epides director, you wont regret it.

theGeekOutGirl

To be honest, I forgot about this episode hahahaha. I kept watching and it seemed familiar, but I didn't recognize it until I saw Balthazar hahahaha. Omg I forgot about how cut Sam was hahaha.

Glad y’all are actually enjoying so far! So in addition to this being peak cut Jared, we are also starting the amazing journey of Sam’s out of control sideburns 😂😂😂 and yeah, next weeks director is a super special first timer 👀

Did I hear that Greg's birthday is Labor Day weekend...? Because SAME. Glad you're enjoying the season so far...and I'm personally looking forward to other male perspectives (besides my husband, which so far, are similar to yours) on this season. I think it's a great goal to have SPN finished before Jensen starts filming again. Especially if it means another episode per week for us. Win-win!

of all the eps to watxh while i eat my lunch.. 😖😖 love seeing all business cas! its interesting, weve gotten used to cas working w the boys because they had the same goal. but now that they have different goals and priorities, they dont have exactly the same partnership they used to. and yes, the boys putting holy oil EXACTLY where the angel would step? i just chalk it up to hand wavy saving time in the ep, but it is a bit odd lol

AdoptDontShopPets

🙌 Yes, seasons 7 and 12 are my least favorite too, though as you said...each has some episodes I love

AdoptDontShopPets

LOL, I think this is the one episode we can tell the showrunner is a woman...we we get Dean dreaming about morning kisses with Lisa and oh so many shots of shirtless Sam.

AdoptDontShopPets

Aww, why is everyone being so coy? Next episode is Jensen’s directorial debut and I’m freakin’ excited to watch again! And lol, no way you’ll finish Supernatural before S3 of The Boys unless you make a major commitment. You’d have to watch 4-5 episodes a week, depending on timing of The Boys season 3.

Toasted Toad

Really enjoy listening to your comments at the end - I know it's difficult not to be influenced by the amount of comments you get from us, but I know you'll form your own opinions when you watch. After an iffy start to the season, I think this episode brings it back on firmer footing.

Jason Usher

Great reaction. And some info Sams charger most likely gets at least 20-30 to The Impalas 10 MPG

Michele

You haven't watched The Boys yet??? Wow. lol Good reaction. I'm glad Sam and Dean are back together, and that Cas showed up. Nice to have them all together again, on a case. Not sure what is going on up in Heaven though. I'm glad you are interested. There are some who are not as welcoming to the change style and feel of things and then aren't open to enjoying what is happening.

Loving your guys reactions :p Personally I think a reason season 6 felt so different to people was not only because of differences in how they shot and directed things, but because, if you think about it, this is literally the first season of Supernatural where you don't know what the big bad is starting out. Season 1 - Yellow Eyes, Season 2 - Yellow Eyes, Season 3 - Dean's deal, Season 4 - the seals breaking, Season 5 - the apocalypse. But here they started a lot more subtly with what's happening. And I swear, I was one of those people who hated Season 6 the first time I watched it, but it's actually 100 times better on a rewatch when you know what's going on :) Season 12 however will always have a special place of hatred in my heart though XD Anyways, I love your guys breakdowns, they're always so refreshing, and I'm always fascinated to see what point of view your going to have.
