This episode is great. One of my favorites of season 3. Charlie died so they couldn’t change the future. FitzSimmons being cute in the snow and lincoln getting very lucky. Such A awesome episode that will have long reaching effects

I love the character/relationship work for May and Andrew. This tragic Beauty and the Beast story which works for me because I like Andrew so much even though I don't approve his actions as Lash. I just feel so bad for May. She’s been through so much and she felt such regret over leaving Andrew. She was finally happy with him and then this happened. I was also drawn to the examination of fate/destiny, free will, power, and consequences. Nearly all of the visions kind of fell into place because they had to but not the Fitz and Simmons holding hands vision. They could have easily decided to change the future there by not holding hands and they just...didn’t. No one forced them to. Simmons says that line about inevitability but it really wasn’t in that moment. It was a choice. So it always made me wonder if the ultimate thesis of the episode is that the future really is as you make it. Easily in my top 10 favorite episodes. I've re-watched it quite a bit. The moment the ep starts you can feel the difference in tone and gravitas of what's happening. The way it's filmed, the music. The sweeping shots on the roof top. The way the robin carving is filmed. The color grading of the flames and the sparks. The first time we get to really see Monster!Ward in action. The way it ends with Daisy seeing the vision of the quinjet in space which the audience has already seen. All of it works together to really make it feel like a real tent-pole episode for the season.
