Corrections corner and fun facts! 1.) Re aiden gallagher’s age-- he actually turned 16 while filming s2! 2.) Klaus’ stomach tattoo was one of several he got while in vietnam back in season 1! He got a tiger on his back, a skull on his shoulder that says “173rd Airborne Brigade Sky Soldiers”, and on his stomach he has a thai temple that, according to the makeup artist, says “UA - Klaus loves Dave” ! 3.) Tbh “phallus” aka the word klaus used in his poker rhyme just means penis lol 4.) Lila aka diego’s mental hospital friend popped his shoulder back into place, since he dislocated it getting out of the straight jacket. It WAS framed weird, tho, haha Speaking of lila and diego… idk if it’s just bc im a lesbian and thus every straight romance is at least a little boring to me, but their “romance” or chemistry or whatever theyre supposed to have just seems very forced on behalf of the show. Like, i dont mind if theyre straight, but i dont want it shoved in my face lol. Lila also kinda seems like theyre trying to do a lenny busker from legion type of character, but its just not working for me. But then again, im only halfway thru the show at the moment, so who knows? The production on this season is just beautiful, not sure what exactly they did differently from s1, but im sure they got way more money from netflix thanks to how popular it was. I happened to recently listen to a multi part podcast series abt the JFK assassination and the conspiracies surrounding it (shout out to last podcast on the left, check them out on spotify!!), so when i saw this season was essentially going to be centered around it i was so excited! Felt like i had just read the book a movie was based on! LOVED your reaction, and i’ll see you guys next time!

So glad you’re doing these! I love this season and this really is a strong first episode plopping us back in the UA universe. I agree about luther’s body makeup looking improved which I’m glad they did, it really does give you another layer of believability to his character. And I really love the early 60s backdrop and how it plays into each character’s storyline. Can’t wait for more!

After the passing of John Lewis, i found this article on JFK and his complicated relationship with the Civil rights movement. I thought it was interesting. http://america.aljazeera.com/watch/shows/america-tonight/america-tonight-blog/2013/11/25/jfk-civil-rightsleaderorbystander.html

Also I love klaus. Robert Sheehan is a great actor, it just makes me miss the show Misfits.

Aw haha I'm so glad!!! And thank you so much for the fun facts and.. corrections 😅 saved me having to ask Siri to look up the word "phallus" lol. Fair re: the Lila/Diego romance haha. Esecially at the outset here - has their chemistry improved any up to where you've seen? ...also deeeefinitely gonna have to catch up with Legion one of these days lol. Totally agree on the production values, I guess that's one of the upsides of Netflix apparently just throwing down money on things. Glad this show didn't wind up on AMC lol. Also gonna check out The Last Podcast on the Left, but I believe it's been recommended to us in the past. Will have to check our their JFK episodes. Appreciate the recommendation! :))

So glad you're so glad!! :))) Seriously loving this show so much haha. And yeah, between the setting & the production values, the improvements on the makeup, it's that much more natural and easy to get swept up in. Also been watching more historical documentaries in the past few years, so it's extra engrossing having that context involved.

Thanks for sending this! Will take some time out to read it when I get a chance - probably after UA edits are done haha - but with what I do know about the '60s I guess I wouldn't be entirely surprised to find out his legacy isn't as shiny as it's been portrayed in mainstream history over the years. RIP John Lewis :(

Oh snap! I'm not sure I know the Misfits show.. is it British? Like I said haha, it took me a minute, but I do really love Klaus. Would be curious to see Robert Sheehan in some other stuff!
