Thank you so much for reacting to and breaking down this video for me, John 🙏 — Your insight into the perspective of the musician’s life taught me so much more than my casual listening experience. Also, you helped me pinpoint the genre(s) of it. Lyrically, as a listener, it hits home for a general sense of what it feels like to be exasperated and at a loss for an escape. For me, I connect with a feeling of relief and reassurance that it’s ok to feel that way, and no one is alone in that. As if he’s telling himself he’ll be fine, to will this respite into reality. Maybe the illuminated paper lanterns are a metaphor of a point in time where he did feel free? I really appreciate you taking the time to do this per my request ♥️ - Anisa inspired me reaching out, so kudos to her direction and inspiration!
