Happy Humpday, Patron-O-Jects!!

Decided to poke around the Discord for our weekly dose of K-Pop and came across this!  Felt like a nice opportunity to get off the B(TS)eaten path a little 😝

This song is the latest single from South Korea's IU and sees the singer reflecting on life at 28 from multiple perspectives...  it also features Suga of BTS providing production as well as a guest verse!

IU is a super popular singer/songwriter in SK right now! She has a gorgeous voice, you’ll definitely like some of her stuff. I’m glad you liked this and touched on the production aspects. I appreciate that you take the time to go in depth on understanding the lyrics/meaning. On another note: love it when Suga sings in his verses. It’s just something he recently started incorporating in the last couple of years.

Thanks for reacting and your awesome breakdown. Suga is basically my favorite artist and it’s so exciting to see him collab more and more. Especially to team up with IU! Who is a legend in her own right. She debuted when she was 14 and was a hit with her mostly cutesy pop music. Starting in her twenties she really took ownership of her music and showed her own great songwriting abilities and love for slow tempo, very chilled music. She’s pretty quiet and preserved in real life but also not afraid to stand her ground. On Suga’s recent mixtape he also has a song called 28. It’s like IU’s series in that it’s another snapshot of him at this age and where his mind is at

I can see why!! Dug this as an introduction :) And no problem! That means a lot actually; often a little afraid I'm just rambling on about nonsense haha, so I'm glad you appreciate! Doing my best to expand the ways I look at/listen to these as we move along. Production's definitely been a part of that process, but especially for this song, it seemed like one of the main, significant things to touch on. And yess haha, I feel ya re: the singing. From my glimpses, it's often felt like he's the least inclined to sing-sing, so it's fun hearing him expand in the vocal department as well :)
