1. This was the midseason finale. 2. Holy fuck man rewatching this really highlights why I love this show so damn much. It really feels like it punches above its weight. Writing, acting, direction, they're firing on all cylinders. And it feels like...the MCU. It feels like AoS really captured what makes the MCU so special, much more so than the Netflix series or the Hulu series. The heart, the comedy, drama, the continuity, and the comic book action. 3. Whenever AoS gets to really indulge in the AoS theme you know it's good. Feels like you can really build a sequence around that theme in a way only the classic TV themes can. Reminds me of those classic LOST themes where they'd build up to a moment.

Great episode and great reaction. We are getting into the second half of the season and things can only get more crazy. Looking forward to it

S3 of AoS is actually one of my favorite seasons. It gets better for me with every re-watch. This first half coalescing in this episode. All the threads they've seeded before this from Hydra to Ward to Andrew to Maveth to the Inhumans. All of it coming together to create this complicated, emotional story peak. Now it's time for the back half which contains some of my favorite moments in the show. Can't wait to see your reaction. I will correct one thing you said. The creature on Maveth is considered by Malick to be an ancient Inhuman who was worshiped as a Hydra god. That god was banished to Maveth from Earth and presumably met the residents of the planet and caused their destruction. It is not itself an alien, at least not according to Malick and Will from the info we learn in previous eps.
