I love this episode. Great reaction too, guys. I love when they expand the lore. Seeing some more if the boys’ early years is great. It may seem silly, but I really needed this “surprise” after a long frustrating day. Thanks. Now I’m going to stop before I say a spoiler. Maybe just a giggle in anticipation of what’s to come.

I dunnoooo.. perhaps you're in your own private heaven.. 😜 Either way, very happy to oblige!! 😊

Yeahhh, every now & again YouTube can get finicky about audio passages n things like that. Doesn't happen often with Supernatural, buuut every now n again 😅😓

thereelrejects

Aw, yeah!! Reall glad you enjoyed :) doesn't sound silly at all (at least to us). Sometimes the little, pleasant surprises are the nicest, so I'm glad we could provide you with one! :) Aaaand luckily, you won't have to wait so long for whatever that spoiler was gonna be! 😝

Interesting thoughts on how easy it was to kill Sam and Dean. I guess normally, they wouldn't really think about protecting themselves from fellow hunters. They protect themselves against demons and angels using hex bags and the sigils Castiel inscribed into their ribs. They keep weapons around for regular humans. But they have not kept up an alert for hunters because they see them as being on the same side. This episode is so sad. All Dean's most precious memories are with Sam and his family. All Sam's good memories are without them. I think you heard the sound of the entire fandom's little hearts breaking when Dean threw away the amulet at the end of the episode! 😭😭 I'm not sure, but I think the green lighting was to signify the point where Zach had totally assumed control of their experience.

YAAAAAAAAY FOR DOUBLE EPISODES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my personal favorites :p I swear to God (hehe ;p) I always cry during the scene where Dean and Sam are playing with the fireworks and Knockin' on Heaven's Door is playing. No matter how many times I watch it. I swear though, this episode gets me real pissed off at Sam. People make the argument that maybe Zachariah was manipulating what memories of Sam's we see, but at each one we have Sam confirming that this was one of his "trophy moments", so I don't buy that. It's just so sad after everything Dean has done and sacrificed for him, Sam still usually only thinks about himself, which is why I'm actually onboard for Dean throwing away the amulet at the end. (Although that tends to be a really unpopular opinion) And for them getting killed in the beginning, I totally agree with Toasted, because first of all they didn't know they were on a hunter hit list, and secondly they are other HUNTERS, it's not like some regular Joe got into their room, they've got skills. Anyway, it's actually my birthday today, and seeing you guys doing double episodes is one of the best birthday presents ever <3

so this is a... somewhat devisive episode lol. apologies for the essay This episode has amazing writing and beautiful visuals (the fireworks, the big full moon, cas on the staticky tv!), but i dont watch it often because when i do, it leaves me really unhappy with dean. I know they leave the emotional conflict in this episode unresolved on purpose, its not a flaw in the writing, but it still bothers me. Deans heavens were all spending time with his mom and brother, looking after them, caring for them. Bc thats where he gets his self worth, thats when hes happiest. Sams heavens were all the times he’d been able to enjoy a normal life-- one where people sit together at a table for a holiday meal, where he gets a dog, goes to college. Being able to make his own way, choose his own path in life, when he was only ever told what to do by his dad and brother while they avenged someone sam never even knew? Of course thats what makes sam happy! And i dont blame sam OR dean for their differences in their happiest moments. Theyre just two different people. What i DONT like, is that dean thinks sam was specifically trying to get away from HIM-- and again, deans got low self esteem, that makes sense. But even when sam tells him "no, it was never about getting away from you, it was about making my own choices, choosing what makes me happy for once," dean just doesnt listen. "oh let me guess, you didnt think about it that way." no, dean, he didnt, because sam was a teenager at the time. i get that youre hurt, but of course a teenager isnt going to think about how his actions affect others! And all this is FINE, its great character drama, everybodys motivations make sense. But because sam is never really, actually heard by dean, this doesnt get resolved. And that sucks because, obviously, i love sam. He doesnt deserve what dean is putting on him here. i hope i was able to explain my thoughts w/o ruffling any feathers lol. now i WILL say, jensen looked especially handsome this ep, glad to see him back in that old leather jacket.

Awesome surprise! The rest of the season will go really fast for you now. This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. I'm not a big fan of the Heaven portrayed here, but I really don't have an issue with it otherwise. They did a pretty good job overall. The boys did die pretty easily, but if Sam and Dean are able to break into places, then other hunters could. But they wouldn't normally fear other hunters. And even when confronted by then, I suspect that Sam and Dean didn't really think they'd shoot them. Plus, looked like they are shitfaced drunk too. What Mary was saying was everything Dean fears, even though it's not reasonable. Its his insecurities and that's why he gets so upset over Sam's actions that trigger it. I've always felt that Dean feels that while he can't seem to live without his family, his family seems to be fine without him - and so Sam running away all those times felt like a personal hit to Dean. Dean was the one basically taking care of Sam, and so Sam running away was a pretty bad hit. And while Sam never had Mary to cut the crusts off his sandwich, it was Dean who would have done stuff like that for him. Dean had to fill that gap for Sam, because John wasn't doing it. So, obviously, Sam is telling Dean that he didn't provide enough for Sam to give that same sort of connection. So, by the end of the episode Dean was feeling pretty crappy and letting his fears and insecurities take over. He thought of Sam's memories as a kick at him, personally, even though he shouldn't. Like he really didn't have his brother. Good question Greg. Why did god intervene previously, but not now?

Hey guys, I know this is a little late and you've already put out "99 Problems," but I still wanted to give my thoughts. So love Sam, and definitely feel bad for Dean in this episode. His whole life has been to protect Sam. Now I do actually love John, but he is the reason why Dean's whole existence has been to protect Sam. John made Sam, Dean's world (and inadvertently caused some, in my opinion, severe codependency issues on Deans behalf) so to find out that basically your whole reason for living (in Dean's eyes) envisions his heaven without you, as a matter of fact, getting away from you (indirectly), that sucks, that blows...but thats not Sam's fault. That's it. End of sentence.🤷🏾‍♀️ Mad at Sam? For what? I think as a fandom sometimes we boohoo for Dean without taking Sam's feelings into account. Sam never wanted this life, he didn't have a good relationship with his father, it's not surprising that he doesn't have the best memories. Now I love this episode, but it kinda paints Sam in a negative light. I think it's kinda shitty that we fault Sam for not having the same experience as Dean, and for getting away from, in his eyes, a toxic environment, and honestly it most likely was. I do genuinely feel for Dean. I just mostly feel like Sam shouldn't be blamed for having a differing experience😶. All of this sucks for the both of them.🤷🏾‍♀️ But anyway, glad you enjoyed the episode, this season is amazing. See ya next time🤗.

“Sam never wanted this life”. And Dean did? He might have some vague memories of his mother, but he was 4 when she died. I imagine he would have been perfectly happy without this revenge quest. His father left him alone for days or even weeks at a time, he lost his own childhood and adolescence being a parent to his little brother and being blamed by his father if anything went wrong. Dean was the ‘good little soldier’ whereas Sam was coddled. That’s why they grew up differently - it’s not because Dean remembers his mum and Sam doesn’t, it’s because of how they were treated. Sam never had to take on any responsibility and was free to think only of himself and how he’d been hard done by, never considering Dean’s life and what Dean was giving up for him. That’s why Sam is unpopular with a lot of people at this stage. There will be a lot more life changing stuff to come for both of them, of course. Life goes on (or not), you learn and grow. Someone who starts off as a selfish little brat can end up being a wonderful human being (or vice versa). I love both the brothers, but I can be impatient with Sam at times, as I feel he can be selfish. But the story is incomplete without both of them.
