I hope I didn't set low expectations for you John, with last weeks posts. Hahah. At this point you can see how picky and critical I can be. Majority of people like demon slayer, there's a reason why it's so popular and well received. And despite my issues I still enjoyed it quite a bit. And yeah, visuals are great as ever, those dynamic /panning camera shots are so good. I also assume it's mostly cgi backgrounds with 2d characters in those scenes. And the music is really good, also the voice acting is super good too, I really like Tomioka's and urokodaki's VAs.

2021-07-15 04:42:59 Nah haha, you're good! I appreciate your critical eye, even if we don't always line up every episode. I just like to do my best to be aware of the reception & possible counter-arguments, especially as I'm here refining my palate & getting to know this side of the medium better. Glad you still got some enjoyment out of the series, though! Thinking back on a few of those shots, I imagine you're probably on the right track with the CG backgrounds + 2-D characters. Seems like they've done better to give the CG a bit more of a "drawn" quality too. Definitely with you on the VA's as well. Especially with the amount of mystery & gravity they introduce those characters with (+ the contrast in the writing between what they're thinking vs. saying), I think they've done a great job with all those different nuances. I guess it's easy for the mentor characters to be especially engrossing, but the performances do bring a lot here. At least so far haha.
