Yeah... this episode... Erm, okay. I always forget this is straight after Kuras first big fight. Does it come into play? Sorta. Did it need a whole episode? No. It did not.

I really dislike this episode lol. It was so jarring tonally to go from kurapika killing one of the phantom troupe to this lol. I know show runners want to balance the tone for kids , but it was done so poorly in this episode. Also I think you start to notice HxH style , sometimes theres just pointless in depth information about shit , hahha. Theres gonna be more stuff like this is you stay with this show . Sometimes it works, sometimes it dont. This time it clearly did not , for most people . The only good thing was the dude analyzing gon, the subs were a bit different then when i watched it back then. So the tone is a bit different , but Gons driving factor being curiousity and him not judging whats bad and whats good . That was on point its gonna matter later on. Overall this was one of the weakest hxh episode so far, lol

Also you guys don't need to hold back as far as criticisms go. At least for hxh reactions, I think few people who watch it, know it's not super duper giga amazing every episode. Lol. Also it's brings out discussions. I feel like you guys, especially John was really trying to say nice things despite actually not liking it that much, haha

I really love this episode. I'd probably have it in the top 5 episode of this series, actually, and that's because at the core I feel this represents what Hunter x Hunter is the most. It's about being human and judging morality. A lot of the characters are not motivated in the stereotypical fighting format of shonen anime, and a lot of them are looking for redemption. This also shows what being a Hunter is, in my mind at least, and that's embracing new information even if it sounds like it won't be helpful in the immediacy because it can be useful another time. I also really love Zepile as a character.
