Q's + TIME CODES

Elisa Ingo (0:52) - Are you a Sam girl or a Dean girl?

Mimi M (4:37) - I just saw an article that said Phoebe Waller-Bridge is currently self-isolating with the wall of penises from Fleabag. So my question is, What TV Show prop would you like to own? Feliz Cinco De Mayo.

Jen Smith (11:08) - Alright, since Nic Cage was cast as Joe Exotic, who would you cast for the rest of the Tiger King movie (or limit series or whatever they're making)??

Laura Moore (23:42) - I’ve never submitted a question because I don’t know what to ask. And I feel like you may have already answered this or something similar before, but was wondering what was the first album you bought with your own money.? Do you still have it? Are you still a fan of that artist? I know a bit about John’s taste from his music reviews but I thought it’d be fun to hear more about music from both of you. Much love as always! 💜💜💜

Edgaras Sabaliauskas (31:44) - Which would you prefer ? A fantastically directected and technically sound movie or TV show with weak script or very well written piece of story/characters/dialogue with run of the mill direction ? Can you think of any examples ?

Edgar

I didn't realize my question would be so difficult to read, Greg. Hahah. I think majority of Nolan movies have fantastic direction and all that jazz but the dialogue and just how unnaturally characters are written is one of his weak points. On the other hand I think Taylor Sheridan is pretty good writer but there's a really significant difference in sicario and it's sequel. Wind river also falls into similar tier, as in the direction itself is good but nothing special yet the dialogue and characters are just so good. Something like Manchester by the sea or Lady bird has solid to great characters and dialogue, but direction itself (how it's shot, edited and so on) is pretty average, especially for lady bird. Spotlight is another one, the directing itself is probably the weakest aspect of the film or Amadeus. Also I see you guys keep trying to say my full name lol. E

JOHN I had no idea you are a Mad Men fan! SAME! I would love to gift you with a chip-n-dip! As for this Dean girl, I’d take the Impala, hands down. 😎 GREG, why wouldn’t you want Walt’s Heisenberg hat? I think it would look very dashing on you!

sarahzentexas

I think you both should form a casting company ASAP. Your picks for the Tiger King movie are amazing!

Mimi M

I would love to own the Game of Thrones hand of the queen pin, the Panic Pete squeeze toy from Dirk Gently and the statue from Fleabag. The Castiel toy is a good call.

Hahaha it's been a long week 😅Funny, it was difficult coming up with specifics, but I think you've got some pretty compelling ones here. I would agree Nolan's got more noticeable flaws on the writing side; I always catch a certain amount of romanticism from his writing. Which I think is an asset in some cases, buuut can also make things pretty hammy in others. Didn't wind up seeing Day of the Soldado, but I've never forgotten the physical experiences of watching Sicario. Maybe I ought'a give it a shot, but knowing Denis Villeneuve wasn't going to return (along with the vibe of the trailer) was sorta what let my interest wane. Curious about Taylor Sherdian's follow-up to Wind River, though. I'd say it's a fair assessment, but I could see some potential in what I remember of Wind River's physical aspects. Also gets me wondering about the line between what's just kinda run-of-the-mill vs. what's restrained or not too visually conspicuous for a particular purpose. I feel like editing, especially, can probably illuminate this. I fear this will become a novel haha, but you've got a pretty keen eye for these things. Making me wanna go back n revisit some of these. And we will NEVER give up on trying to say your full name!!! 🤣🧐

Aw haha yesss!! I would treasure that chip-n-dip (and if I ever get 2, I'd be sure to save yours 😝). I've got a couple episodes left of the last season, because I didn't wanna say goodbye, but I think one of these weekends I'm gonna finish it off haha. I'm excited to revisit it at some point in full, but I feel like there's a lot'a stuff I ought'a catch up on first 😅 And I guess people are gonna be fighting over Dean in this thread lol! I agree, though. Greg + Heisenhat is a look that ought'a happen at some point. 🤠

Haha well thank you! ...oddly enough I think it'd be kinda fun to have a casting agency with the word "Reject" in the name 😝Glad you appreciated!

Oooooh, there's a good call! At least from our interactions here, it seems like you'd make a good hand of the queen. I really gotta catch up with Fleabag, and Dirk Gently for that matter! Solid picks tho haha. Google search got me very curious about the context of both 🤓

Mimi M

Aw thanks. I feel like hand of the queen is a thankless & stressful job. The statue is a running gag on Fleabag that is also very important to the story line, So it would be nice to own. If you have the time, you should catch up, since it's so short.

Rue

Sam has the dick of doom - all the girls he's slept with (thus far in your watch) wind up meeting a horrible end, somehow. At least with Dean, you'd just have to deal with his emotional stuff, of which there's a metric fuckton.

Mimi M

I would pick Dean if he starts seeing a good therapist.
