I love this Episode! Can't agree more on all the points you made! Cameron is just FAN-FRICKING-TASTIC! I love how calm Jeremiah is and how slow and focused he talks and barely laughs or smiles. I like that his real Face is just plaine white, that he wears a purple-ish suit at the End.. He looks so good! He is just so different from Jerome and I can't wait for you to see more :D I wouldn't have seen the Twist coming If I hadn't seen every Trailer from Gotham back then but they were always awesome :D The Diretion in this was spot on. Really great shots from all around the Cast. The Lighting was the thing the Impressed me the most. Especially on the Graveyard. When Bruce calls out for Jeremiah in the Tomb and he creeps up behind the Corner, it immediately reminded me of Pennywise in IT Chapter 1. There was a similar Scene in the Sewers where he creeps up behind a corner. So having seen both, Jerome and Jeremiah.. which Version do like more?

Glad we see eye to eye on this! And yes! I talked so much about the direction and framing but totally neglected the brilliant cinematography! Thanks for addressing that...

To answer your other question, I need a few more episodes of Jeremiah to truly tell. There was so much time with Jerome and we've only just began getting to know Jeremiah. My feeling is that Jerome will be more fun, where as Jeremiah will be more threatening. Like his intelligence level seems scary enough already. But we shall see! Ask me again in a few episodes

2021-07-15 04:50:54 This was one of my favorite episodes of the season, I think. I hadn't really noticed the cinematography or direction, but you're right, it's fantastic. Cameron Monaghan's performance here, as Jeremiah turns, is so awesome--just in his gestures & body language you can immediately tell the difference between Jerome and Evil!Jeremiah. It's so fantastic :D

After your issues with the previous two episodes, I felt somewhat compelled to reassure you of the return to form for the season’s remainder. I ultimately held off because I didn’t want to jinx anything by overhyping the greatness that was to come. Boy, am I relieved you dug this episode as much as I did. I applaud the boldness and courage to reinvent Cameron’s Joker with a completely fresh take when it could’ve been easy to rest on his laurels. And that reveal… wow, I did not see that coming. Seeing his true psychotic self peeking through his painted “sane” facade was such haunting imagery. In fact, as you mentioned, the whole episode was teeming with striking visual direction. Initially, I was worried that Jeremiah’s significantly more restrained personality would get tiresome, but he balances the pendulum, specifically in Season 5. If nothing else, he just looks incredible. For legal reasons, they couldn’t go with the traditional green hair, but black works just as well. Maybe I’m imagining, but, in the right light, I can almost detect a green sheen to his slicked-back hair - so much cooler in my humble opinion. Superbly dapper and creepy. Cameron Monaghan is one damn lucky actor. The range he was given to play with on such an iconic pop culture figure is insane and totally warranted with all that talent. You forgot to mention Harley Quinn. Joker’s reincarnation was surprising enough and now they debuted Harley on top of that. I know she didn’t get much of an opportunity to make an impression, but it’s coming. Just seeing her stand at Joker’s side was cool enough. Given the timeline, I honestly didn’t think her character would make an appearance, which made this episode kind of unbeatable. I also thought it was clever to covertly introduce her civilian form (Echo) as Jeremiah’s bodyguard in order to misdirect the audience to her eventual reveal. For the same annoying legality, I believe they could only go as far as creating a character in her likeness - whatever. You do you, DCEU. Your observation about the crap televisions was hilarious. I don’t know why I never realized this before. The technology of this universe is all out of sync: 2000’s flip-phones, first-generation TVs, and crazy sci-fi advancements. I wouldn’t have it any other way. David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) did a great job at partnering the scene with Cameron. The beginning exchange between Bullock, Gordon, and Lee was great as well. Tens all around.

God haha Cameron Monaghan is something else on this show. Kinda sad his name isn't louder in the "best Jokers" conversation, because his work between both characters is incredible!!! I can see why it's one of your faves haha - like I said, SUPER well composed. Glad you enjoyed the video :))
