2021-07-15 04:52:28 Well, I'm really glad you're still doing Gotham reactions. :D I binged the whole series recently, & going back & rewatching with your reaction's been a good way for me to focus more on each episode, since binging was kind of a blur. This episode definitely was a bit cheesier than usual, but I think the bigger reason it didn't work for me was that the B-plot lacked heft. Usually I love how Gotham juggles its huge cast & all their storylines, & in a lot of my favorite episodes the two or three lines we follow in each one all have stakes and interesting developments going on, so even if one of them is weaker or falls on the wrong side of the cheese line, the others balance it out. But here, Barbara's plot doesn't have a lot going on, except for a little tension between her and Tabitha, until the last couple of minutes? She's just poking around Ra's's (?) little hideout and not a lot is actually happening, so when the Jerome-Gordon plot gets really extra and lags in pacing a bit, there's nothing to balance it out. I'm really interested to see what you think of the rest of season 4, though. There's several plot developments coming up that I didn't expect the first time I watched it that I'm looking forward to seeing at a slower pace :D

Ah yeah I get that - I feel the same way with binging! You know you might've hit the nail on the head - I usually feel like the B/stories are engaging also complimentary to the main storyline but it really felt like they were doing some light padding and build up that ultimately wasnt all that engaging. But you got me looking forward to the upcoming episodes! Thanks for being here my friend!
