Kill Bill is a good movie, well at least vol 1, lol. I really like seeing Greg struggling with Nen principles , lmao. Also you finally starting to see how expansive and in depth this nen is, It is considered one of the better magic/combat systems in anime due to how varried it is and some other stuff thats yet to be revealed. I also liiked how this ep was much more Hisoka focused and it adds a bit more to his character. He is not just having boners left and right whenever he fights strongs kids , well he is ,(lol) but theres few layers to him. Also i actually did not like the end , where narrator explained hisokas goals n stuff , i thought it telegraphed pretty clearly without that , but seeing your reactions , apparently the narrator helped , lol. The breakdown was also pretty good , on how hisoka set castro up, the way its delivered , its a bit too info dumpy , but considering its first time a viewer is seeing how nen works in a fight , i think thats fine . The new character introduction was pretty cool , i thought . Just due to how she gives no fucks about Hisoka and how Hisoka is into her lol. And i just really like her character design and just general personality . Charlie Brown / Karate kid bit was funny , lol. I was as lost as John for a moment . Overall , i think it was very intriguing episode , setting up some stuff and tying back shit from hunter exam . And Hisoka is always fascinating to watch , due to not knowing what he might do, lol

2021-07-15 04:54:09 Damn haha, no love for Volume 2? 😝 I actually got to see The Whole Bloody Affair cut once in the theatre. LONG, but a very cool way to watch the complete Kill Bill. LOL our little Nen study sessions at the beginnings & ends of these are fast becoming a thing I look forward to lol. We'll get there someday! Still wrapping my head around some of the details, but the abilities seem pretty fascinating so far, even just with the few expansions we got here thru Hisoka. Thought it was cool to get a Hisoka episode as well. Seemed very appropriate, especially given everything with Gon and their various run-ins. And again, just watching him figure out and outwit this guy (who REALLY should not have just laid his whole hand out there lol) was pretty fascinating. Always diving into the strategies and mindset with this show. As for the narration at the end, I think it helped clarify, just 'cause it felt like there were a lot of details colliding toward the end there? If we'd just seen him take the patch off, I imagine we'd have at least put together that he's posing as Phantom Troupe. But I won't lie it was nice to have the clarification 😅 Agree as well, re: the breakdown. I can see how it's a bit MUCH, but also... what Hisoka's doing is a bit much lol, so it felt like a cool way of really, like you said, cluing us into what he did while also expanding the realm of Nen for us. Poor Kastro lol. Definitely agree on the new character intro. Loved her whole attitude toward Hisoka and just how much of a badass she is with the Nen sutures. Their whole back & forth was a great scene. Actually surprised Hisoka harbors those kinds of interests lol. Hoping we get to see more of her in the future (which I imagine we will). And I liked how you just sorta get to know her cold thru that scene. And the way that aided the info dump. And THANK YOU lol, I'm glad I wasn't insane there 😂all I could think of at first was the yellow shirt with the black zig-zag and Ralph Macchio lol. Glad you enjoyed this one too! Hisoka's unsettling, but very fun and, like you said, fascinating to watch. I just have so many questions about his whole deal lol. Aaand now I'm impatient to shoot the next one lol. Hope you're having a good weekend!!

Hisoka's magic trick (i.e. pulling the card from his stump) was actually a mathematical sleight of hand. No matter which number you choose, the answer will always be 1. It was all distraction and showmanship.
