Ward in the first half of season 1 as this good guy agent bored the hell out of me but Brett Dalton really excels at this ruthless kinda unhinged Ward. That close up shot of him in the van looking into the camera gives me chills.

I love that most of the conflict or personal distress in SHIELD is organic, not forced drama for drama's sake. They generally just have logical and reasonable emotional extension of where the characters would be based upon their personal experiences.

GAH! Same here re: that last shot of Ward. I wouldn't say he bored me, but he did seem like a pretty stock character until the twist. And likewise, I LOVE what he's doing with unhinged Ward. The whole Hydra thing turned out to be a real blessing for the show, it seems like!

I think that's one of the things I've come to appreciate the most is the way they've been able to blend the serial stories in with the more episodic Case-of-the-Week aspects. I feel like in a different show you might've had Ward disappear after S1 or Fitz just be fine & recovering more smoothly coming back after the break, but I love how they really use everything that came before to fuel the drama. Good stuff!

The Ruptards

Pretty interesting that this U.N. attack happened then a year or two later the Civil War U.N. bombing happened. They can't catch a break man.

"It's not like a Netflix Daredevil fight here" *suspicious maniacal laughter*

Oof haha, I hadn't thought of that, but you're absolutely right 😂working at the UN seems particularly thankless in the MCU lol
