Rented it off Amazon because we had issues downloading it off of Itunes...

Figured that before we close out our journey with My Hero Academia (don't worry, when Season 4 is on, we will return for it) & move onto Hunter X Hunter, that we should complete the package with the film!

I saw this when it first came out in theaters, and it was incredible watching this movie with a room full of fellow fans. I remember that last fight scene everyone got super hype, especially at the shot of the two heroes running side by side. Was awesome watching along with you guys! Now all that's left is for all of us to wait for season 4.

The movie got some theater screenings back in October when it first released in the US, both in Japanese & in English. There's a new movie coming out in Japan in December, with a US release/screening hopefully around January or February. In terms of tying back to the actual show, the original author considers the characters and events canon to his story however due to the manga being so far ahead it's likely it won't be mentioned in the future. Also, episode 20 of season 3 was a setup for this movie. I think y'all skipped it so just letting y'all know.

It's definitely worth watching on the big screen. The movie played in English all around me (I'm in NYC) and pretty much every show was sold out. When All Might and Midoriya were about to do the double smash everyone in my theater got out of their seats and started getting hype. At one point we couldn't hear anything going on in the movie because everyone was so loud and into the moment. Definitely one of my favorite movie theater experiences.

The movie was an original story not in the manga but the author helped with script. Also the black eyes is a stylistic choice to show it all might after the injury from All for One. Also All mights muscle form has nothing to do with one for all quirk. They implied that Dave's going to jail with the police officers outside his hospital room and one agent inside the room.

hehehe now that you guys are doing anime movie reactions i'm recommending "A silent Voice" its on netflix i guarantee both of you will cry!

And so completes the journey. I love this damn series and I can't wait for season 4. I heard from manga readers that it is going to be the darkest season yet, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

Ahhh okay, good to know! Was that the special Save the World with Love episode? Maybe I’ll go back n revisit at some point now that we’ve seen the movie. I think I vaguely remember hearing about when it was out, but I don’t think we were far enough at the time. Any idea where the new movie falls in terms of the show?

Appreciate the info, mate!! Cool of the original author to contribute to the script that way. Still quite curious about the nature of his muscle vs. skinny forms, but good to know about his eyes.. are they just.. like.. forever bloodstained or something? 😨 And good to know Dave will be atoning for his indiscretions haha.

It hasn't been said yet, however the author commented on how the story for it was something he was saving and planning for the manga but now decided to use it for the movie.
