Laugo Alien: Real Innovation in Modern Handgun Design

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com The Laugo Alien is a pistol developed recently, and only introduced in 2018. Its lead designer was Ján Lučansky, who was also heavy involved in the CZ Scorpion carbine/SMG. The Alien is a significantly different take on modern handgun design than what we are used to seeing. It uses a fixed barrel, gas delay system (similar to the H&K P7). It has an extremely low bore axis, excelled single-action hammer-fired trigger system, and its clever slide designs puts the sights (either iron or electro-optical) on a fixed top strap that does not move during cycling. I legit one of these pretty bad

Alfred Gawron

A Sphinx 3000 grip, HK P7 gas system and Morini's MG2 trigger/sear group. Borrowed all around but a very cleaver design in a nice package. I like it a lot and hope it'll do well.

While one of these would be within my budget, my range needs are currently filled by other pistols (Canik TP9SFX, SIG P210 Target. CZ TSO).

Martin Morehouse

Trigger linkage reminds me of a Luger in some ways.

Jason

So it's basically a gamer gun.

I wonder, if Mr. Lučanský still got LTG-1 prototype. That pistol was even more enigmatic - you have to rack the slide forward, but is was not blow-forward system like Schwarzlose. They let me handle it for minute in exhibition in Trenčín in late 90's, but I did not figured out, how it was working actually.

first I thought yeahwell another wonder9. but that is something new indeed, wouldn't surprise me if one or another idea would be copied soon. though... at that price point the thing will never be seen by many people, checked it. they are offered in germany but even from nextdoor they demand about 4000.

What type of footprint does the optic have?

I wonder if the designer is familiar with those Bent Agner Nielsen target pistols.
