I recently met up with Ashley Hlebinsky, former curator of the Cody Firearms Museum, and we sat down for a rambling discussion about the intersection of firearms and museums, mostly. Among other things, we will talk about her consulting work with the L.A. Police Museum and the Browning family, the changing direction of mainstream museums, testifying in court cases, and much more.

Oh, and a rye whiskey face-off between Kyro and Thumb Butte!

When can we expect Ashley's book on firearm advertisements from Headstamp Publishing?

Mrs. Hlebinsky is speaking too fast. She is running all her words together. I had a very hard time understanding her. In fact, I could not take it any more after about twenty minutes and stopped listening. I wish that during the conversation I could have said to her "please slow down!" I could not understand the names of museums she was talking about. It was almost as if she was speaking a foreign language and not english. There were important things that she attempted to explain but to fast to be understood.

If you are concerned if the Peter Principle applies to you, it doesn't. Those actively try to work to better themselves. It always applies to people that would never consider it.

I'm at the 23 minute mark and I don't see how it's hard to understand her at all. It looks like this is a problem with your poor English skills, not hers.

Some really interesting points, especially the attic-Arisaka one. A good listen.

I had no problem understanding her either. But I've also been known to speak quickly.

Peculiarities in voices and speaking patterns abound, This speaker does have a distinctive style, perhaps you do too. She certainly does know a great deal on the museum industry.

I wonder if my .32RimFire Elliott 4 barrel derringer has ever starred in your show. It has a revolving firing pin, so I can stage the barrels to fire blank first, cyan pepper load second, and full hollow points 3rd & 4th. It has no safety but securing the trigger back in uncocked position with large rubber band around grips. It has never drop'fired, so seems safe, although a bit pricy& rare for CCW! LOL!
