BUG Match with a 98-Year-Old 6.35mm Le Français

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com Today I'm at the BackUp Gun Match in Tucson with a first model Le Français made in 1923. This is an early French semiauto pistol design intended for pocket carry. It has a 7-round magazine and a tip-up barrel, so that one need not ever manually rack the slide. It's very compact, very light, and surprisingly accurate...although the 6.35mm (.25 ACP) caliber does leave a lot to be desired. Contact: Forgotten Weapons 6281 N. Oracle 36270 Tucson, AZ 85740

I have one of these with a longer barrel that I picked up this Spring and it’s a hoot! They are surprisingly hard to find. Mine also induced maybe the funniest malfunction I've ever had where it tried to chamber the last round and instead flung it out above the chamber straight forward of where I was standing. Couldn't figure out what happened until I checked the video I was taking later, search Le Francais malfunction on YouTube and you’ll probably find it.

a lot of early 25acps were well made (but small) and accurate guns. I have some early vest pockets and Astra 200 that shoot so well -cartridge is tiny but guns can shoot and all steel craftsmanship. Mouseguns can be fun at the range sometimes.

I've a 32 LE Francais which is also quite accurate. Thanks for the video.

That looks a lot like a Beretta Jetfire .25ACP. I had one in the early 1980s, it was accurate and reliable.
