Technically it's aluminum but at least he can get some steel case ammo for the 11th anniversary. 😅

Give us more; Throwback Thursday is a great idea! I did a bit of looking; a 303 can was 3-3/16" in diameter (one old can size was a '303 x 406': 3-3/16" diameter by 4-6/16" high.)

An 81mm mortar should have a bore diameter of 3.1898"; the '303' can diameter (3-3/16") converts to 3.1875". That size of can should fire fairly cleanly out of an 81mm mortar.
