Combloc SAW: Chinese RPD at the Range

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com I am excited to take an RPD out to the range today - I've wanted to try one for quite a while. The RPD is a very light and compact weapon for a squad automatic, and I'm curious how it will actually handle. This particular example is a Chinese Type 56, with many of the improvements that were made over the course of Soviet adoption and field use of the gun. Contact: Forgotten Weapons 6281 N. Ian, maybe think about getting a nomex/kevlar sleeve or a pair to carry with you for when you shoot machine guns in short sleeves.

I love the mag/belt dumps in the end of these videos

Nick Beckwith

John L Plaster, in his fantastic book SOG lays out in detail how US Special Forces troops would modify the weapon for their own use, including putting a circular slice of linoleum in the drum belt carrier to help it feed more smoothly and as Ian mentions, cutting the barrel down.

Dear Ian: Can you make a video about the three gun companies (now defunct) from Spain? Llama, Star and Astra?
