How to Swap FAMAS Ejection Left to Right

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com One of the very nice features of the FAMAS is that it can be swapped between left-hand and right-hand ejection in just a few moments without needing any tools or spare parts. I had this FAMAS out at the range in left-handed configuration and the owner asked me to return it as a right-handed gun, so I figured it would be a fine opportunity to demonstrate the process... Having read the comments on the other feed: 1. If I loan someone a firearm, I don't expect him to clean it and would actually prefer doing it myself. 2. It would require a combination of miraculous occurrences to detonate a primer when using the cartridge to lift out the extractor. Not your day and you were doomed anyway. 3. No one cares if you don't like bullpups.

Jesus Ian! Clean your rifle!

LOL! While most of your points are salient, common courtesy would be to clean any weapon you have borrowed, unless the owner specifically requests that you not. And yes there are owners like that and then again owners that would allow someone to borrow their firearm without being right there with them are few and far between, 'cause trust me none of my firearms are going anywhere that I'm not going unless it is with my wife or one of my sons, their wives and as the grandkids get older them as well. And I know for a fact fired or not when those weapons come back they will be clean. Keep in mind what opinions are like and we each have at least one. hahaha!

I know Ian owns a semi auto FAMAS. I hope one day he gets to have a full auto one of his own. Were French soldiers permitted to do this swap themselves or did it have to be done by an armorer? When I was in the Army, there were certain firearms (like the Browning M2) that I wasn't allowed to completely disassemble even though I had the ability.

Had the good fortune to shoot a FAMAS in Central Asia back in 2004 after having taken the overall championship in a country's former Soviet armed forces day competition, beating shooters from the host country, France, Britain, Russia, China and a handful of others. Trigger on the thing was a bit stiff and the barleycorn front sight irritating but damned if it didn't show itself very accurate and soft shooting. Very amicable match and a proud moment to have medaled and had our National Anthem played by a former Soviet republic's army band while all the competitors stood in formation with compatriots from their respective countries.
