Ian Finally Takes a Full Auto FAMAS F1 to the Range

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com Huzzah! I finally have a chance to take a proper full-auto FAMAS F1 out to the range. My conclusions? It's very nice, just like the semiauto civilian model. It has a limited 3-round-burst option for those who need it, but also unrestricted automatic for those with enough practice to use it. The gun really doesn't try to climb at all; the in-line design (like an AR) pushes recoil straight back into the shoulder. The rate of fire is higher than most 5.56mm shoulder rifles, measuring right about 950 rpm on this example. Automatic is of limited practical use from the shoulder, but given the FAMAS' free floated barrel and integral bipod, it is certainly capable of limited supporting type fire from the prone position. I may be a bit prejudiced, mais il est un magnifique fusil. Contact: Forgotten Weapons 6281 N. Oracle 36270 Tucson, AZ 85740

I think you are more excited about finding a local source for mags

Great video. Thanks! The thing that I remember most from the video is where your cameraman was standing in front of you and you swung the muzzle in his direction. I used to be a videographer and that would have scared the hell out of me! That shows me how much he trusts you. Thanks again! (I am now one of your patrons. Keep up the great work!)

Whew! That Bugle really blows its horn, 947 rpm, that is a lot rounds down range.

damned.. why.. how... Aaaargh! be certain bunch of folks are jealous about that rangetime! why the french replaced that is far beyond my understanding. yeah worn machines. I know. build a new line and presto... fixed.

I see now why the Legionnaires liked the FAMAS. The thing is actually controllable in rapid fire....

You looked like a kid getting his favorite ice cream... about time.

Great video, as always. I just wish you would get some views down range, with shots hitting target or background.

You mentioned that you have a semiauto FAMAS. As a new subscriber I couldn't find a video where you showed us your collection of firearms. Is it possible that you could make one? I'm guessing that you probably own one of the most interesting collections.
