British Money-Walker 1868 Trials Rifle

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.bbtv.com/collections/forgotten-weapons Patented in 1868 by Colonel G.H. Money and Mr. M. Walker, this rifle was one of the 10 finalists in the British breechloading rifle trials of 1868. It is a simple falling block system with an internal hammer. In the second set of trials, it proved to be middle of the pack in rapidity of fire (20 shots in 1 minute and 14 seconds) but succumbed badly to exposure testing. The Martini would win those trials, and the Money-Walker system was only used in limited commercial rifle and shotgun manufacture. Contact: Forgotten Weapons 6281 N. Oracle 36270 Tucson, AZ 85740

The simplicity is beautiful, WOW! Amazing, the lines of other guns from the same time, being built by other creators that can be seen, but that have probably little to nothing to do with each other other than time and materials available. Makes me wonder, what would those folks been capable of if they had CAD programs or computers available to them.

This is a pretty slick gun, shame it didn't become something bigger

What caliber cartridge was it chambered for?

Extremely simple rifle - now this looks like it could work today for a shotgun or even a .22.
