I ve always said that you are better off with a Remington. Do you believe me now, Ian? ;-)

Were any of the guns returned to the library?

ForgottenWeapons

Only two that I know of. Herb House, then Curator of the Cody Firearms Museum, had two donated to Cody year later and he arranged for them to return to the CT State Library.

Awesome. Thanks Ian.

Niels

These guns literally belong in a museum (or library)!

Ian.... A great story that I had never heard of. I certainly have heard of RL Wilson, but never this awful scandal that paints the entire gun collecting community very poorly. Your channel continues to educate and enlighten and for that reason just I increased my Patreon support. Well done!

Was Wilson featured on "Tales of the Gun" years ago? That name seem familiar.

I noted that, per the obituary noted above, Mr. Wilson's reputation apparently never suffered much in his lifetime, and many still use his books, opinions, and, apparently, his valuations. It makes me wonder how many "experts" in various fields are running around with sterling reputations and vile minds.

the man was known as a collector of rare guns of which he was applauded for. sometimes in the collection of rare items one has to be underhanded to acquire them otherwise the items would be destroyed or lost forever or never be known to the public. his reputation remind intact because he was factual about his work on firearms history and his knowledge was cross referenced and found to be quite detailed.

Season 1, Episode 12 regarding JMB, and doubtless other episodes as well.
