Finnish Brutality Practice: 2-Gun with a Finnish M39

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons https://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons/home Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.bbtv.com/collections/forgotten-weapons As practice for Finnish Brutality, I ran a 2-Gun match with the Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant I am planning to use over in Finland. The M39 is the final iteration of the Mosin in Finnish service, and has very good sights, a great trigger, and a nice smooth action (for a Mosin, anyway). I was using PPU 182 grain "match" ammo, and the rifle short great. For a pistol, I used a Russian TT33 Tokarev, as I didn't have a Finnish L35 Lahti available (I don't know what pistol I will be using for Finnish Brutality yet...). Every single stage today used a kettlebell, in classic 2-Gun style! My takeaway from the match was that I really need to practice reloading, and find some stripper clips that are less awful the typical, if possible. Once it was loaded, the rifle did great - all the misses were entirely my fault (perkele!). I've got plenty of time for some more practice before the match, fortunately. I like this modern take on the M36 uniform.

I would really like to get myself a L35 but unfortunately they cost an arm and a leg. Understandable you had to use the TT33

I think Finnish Brutality is going to be really cool to watch. Hopefully Manual Division is a little larger there...

Guess its time to get the kettle bell out and start practicing

Never been able to reload a Mosin smoothly using available stripper clips. Must be near impossible on the clock. All clips I've run across in the US are flimsy and soft. Are Finn clips better, and if so, how?

I like how the light was on the last target, visual as well as audible.

I have only one M39, but more than one Tokarevs collected over 25 years.

Great job Ian! But if the match is in February in Finland, you might want to practice reloading wearing mittens..... If memory serves it gets pretty cold there. Excellent work around with the 45lb kettle bell and shooting your M39 off hand. Thanks again.

Am ever so pleased to see that the TT33 is running so well for you!

At 0:57 you say that you're using 7.63 Mannlicher in the TT33. Is this an error, meant to be 7.63 Mauser, or does someone actually make 7.63 M1903 Mannlicher ammo today?
