The mention of Kraut Space Magic (H&K G11) actually got me to watch the G11 video again, and inspired a question in me for the next Q&A. With the sheer amount of questions Ian probably receives on this incredibly unique firearm, he may ignore it. Buuut I'm going to ask next month anyways 🤪

As someone living in the U.K. could I come over to the U.S. for a "shooting holiday". I really want to experience the pleasure of firing, yet this contry makes it so difficult. Is it as simple as getting a holiday visa? Thank yo Ian if you or anyone can answer :)

2021-08-14 02:31:35 I have not looked into it much as I live in Arizona but from what Ian, Karl and the guys from Varusteleka have said in some interviews and Q&A's if you want to come and just shoot on a range there shouldn't be any issues at all. However, if you want to shoot at match the best way is to know someone who lives in the US that has gear you can borrow. (If you want to shoot machine guns the OX Ranch in Texas is a great one). They also have fully operational tanks, artillery and other things that go boom

Las Vegas has a thriving rental range business (Battlefield Vegas is perhaps the most famous) and they'll take pretty much anybody's money.

I'll second the recommendation for Las Vegas. If you're just coming over to shoot, that'll probably be the surest and easiest way to do it without knowing someone. There's a ton of "all-inclusive" Vegas travel package scams, though, so definitely book flights and lodging yourself or through a travel agency you trust, because to paraphrase what PHAZE said, Vegas exists entirely just to take your money. And definitely double-check this one, but I think you can with a valid U.K. driver's license rent a car in Nevada. So after you're done shooting, you could drive out to one of the national parks in the area around Vegas. Or just take a walk downtown and check out the Mob Museum and historical spots in the city. Either way, it's a very cool and stunningly beautiful part of the country.
