I am posting this for early for you folks on Patreon, to give you a chance to sign up before the video publishes on the channel for everyone (on Sunday, the 23rd). We do have limited space, and I expect it will sell out pretty quickly.

You can find the full itinerary as well as sign up (and make sure to note that Ian sent you!) here:

Announcing my WW1 Battlefield Tour: Come Join Me!

Sign up here, and make sure to tell them Ian sent you! https://www.miltours.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=17&product_id=63 I am excited to announce that I will be leading a WW1 battlefield tour in Belgium and France (mostly France) September 7-15 of 2019. It is being run by Military History Tours, who have more than 30 years experience running worldwide military tours, and I will be acting as tour historian for the trip. The organizing theme is to follow the war chronologically, learning about how it progressed over the years. It was truly World War One that brought the world from volley fire in standing lines to modern small unit tactics and mechanized warfare. We will be visiting museums, forts, battlefields, monuments, and more - this is an opportunity to experience the history in a way that you only can be being at the places where the cataclysms like Ypres, Verdun, and Belleau Wood actually happened. The tour cost is $3,375, which covers all lodging, tickets, entrance fees, transportation, and about half of the meals for the week. It does not include airfare - we will begin in Brussels and conclude in Paris (a great opportunity to spend a few days in the City of Lights!). You can find a full itinerary at the Military History Tours web site: https://www.miltours.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=17&product_id=63 I look forward to seeing you there!

Patreon Censorship Must Stop!

Anonymous

Alas, I am not able to make it. Dang it!!!

Vityaz

If only I could afford it this year. I hope it goes very well and there's more opportunities for it in the future.

Anonymous

It's very tempting, especially since I never been to Europe before.

Ferrous

Wish I could. Y'all have fun!

Sounds like an incredible tour! Not sure I can fit it in the budget for next year, but maybe my Christmas bonus will surprise me. ;)

I am canceling all my Patreon accounts following Patreon’s censorship of conservative channels

Frank Baud

There are other threads on that topic. Let's not clutter up Ian's posts with off topic discussion

I'd be there in a heartbeat if I had the budget. Is there a payment plan?

Anonymous

Patreon meet up for the Europeans? Or soon to be formerly europeans living in Europe?

Anonymous

Was planning on going to Europe this summer anyway, so yeah I am going to look into this

Anonymous

I would love to be able to go on this, unfortunately I am buying a house.

Anonymous

Congratulations!

Raul Ramos

It looks like a very interesting tour, unfortunately much too expensive. Have fun!

See you there for round 2! That pair of French 75 cases I got in May could use some German friends.

Anonymous

I would love to, but I find this too expensive for one week in my own country. If maybe you have time to make a patreon meetup at that time, I'll sure come and with some presents ! Wish you the best for your plans !

👍 Saw Ian’s initial text and thought “yeah, I could drop a couple of hundred quid on EasyJet and a hotel and go say hello”. Not at all in the market for spending thousands for a relatively local trip though. I guess when you have to pay to cross an ocean anyway, it’s automatically a major event and you’re ready to splash out on the activities on the other side.

So upset, I have already booked for the same trip in June 19 and today found out I can’t move it

As an Australian I have to say The U.S. didn’t save any nation ever{sarcastic statement} ... except for um.. France 1918, Australia 1942, South Korea 1952, think I’m going to sit in the corner and be quiet ps we could have done without MacArthur though

Anonymous

When you get there, would you pour one out for my great uncle, Fred Clutter USCM?

Anonymous

Wish I could. ¿Take pictures/videos of berthing and latrines please?

Anonymous

I suggest to anyone going on the tour to check out the Belgian army museum at the Cinquantenaire in Brussels. Loads of stuff and they might still have the 14-18 exhibit up which was very well done.

Anonymous

Any meetup planned? I live very close to Liege

Signed up for the trip... Where is the FAST-FWD button to September?

Ryan G

Wish I could join you! Not enough vacation time this year sadly.
