This doesn't look like the underground bunker in the desert i thought it was going to be. Where's the fallout shelter signs and emergency rations?

Anonymous

That doggy is okay with you talking to the wall as long as you keep up the skritching… Congratulations!

Congrats! That's a huge milestone. How long from now until print, do you think? For the book I co-wrote, it was close to a year from manuscript submission until a box of books arrived in the mail.

Nice work. Can't wait to get a copy. Also, if you have a source for chartreuse, please let me know. Ive always wanted to try it.

Félicitations et à votre santé

I'm not sure how long the peer review and editing will take, but probably about 5 months total until its available.

Here in Arizona, I can find normal green Chartreuse at any good liquor store. The VEP I bought last time I was in France - I visited the Chartreuse monastery and bought the bottle at the distillery in town.

Great job Ian, though the dog doesn't seem to like your french, with how it scurried off. :)

So I think I'll go back down to only giving you 1$ a month in stead of 3$ when you just seem to post apocrypha vids on youtube now..... <a href="https://media.tenor.com/images/269037c3f35cb6007c7208ce40492151/tenor.gif" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://media.tenor.com/images/269037c3f35cb6007c7208ce40492151/tenor.gif</a>

It is truly a gift to be even a small part of your creative process. Well done, Ian! I look forward to the opportunity to enjoy more of your work and passion.

Ian, I am happy for you that you get to celebrate this major accomplishment. (Personally, I am drowning my sorrows in cheap Irish Whiskey until I can relocate with my family to a free state.) Did I miss it somewhere? Is there a place to pre-order your French rifle book?

Bruce Brodnax

Congrats, Ian! Now, where's my draft? [Just want to make certain to catch all the spelling errors before it gets to print, you understand. Purely altruistic...] ;-)

I actually have no specific interest of my own accord in French rifles, but I’m buying your book, Ian! I have a strong suspicion that it will be of Collector Grade quality. Seriously, man, cheers to you!

Anonymous

That Chartreuse might do better as a lubricant for your Chauchat. Next time try celebrating with a nice Calvados or Armagnac. BTW, good work !

DrankDropea76

Glad to hear Ian, can't wait to buy it!

I bought my first berthier at an auction a few months back. Cant wait to buy the book to go with it.

Anonymous

Excellent.

Congratulations, Ian! Completing something like this is always something to be proud of, can't wait to read the final product. Keep it up!

Anonymous

Cheers! And cool dog!

John zelna

I’m going to need some French rifles to go with my copy of the book when I get it.

Cheers :)

The closest thing we males can do that compares to giving birth. Bon Chance!

Chartreuse? Try a Bene’n’hot for a Lancastrian take on la vie douce!

Anonymous

Congrats ! What’s the pups name?

Anonymous

Congratulations!

Anonymous

Chartreuse- mmm!

Glenn Miller

Congrats!!! But take a look at the dictionary definition of "Apocrypha"... I do not think it means what you think it means

You know if the Patreon support ever dries up you could probably get a sponsorship from Garnier Fructis or something.

Looking forward to purchasing your book. :)

Your word count thing going back to school really hit my spot. I used to absolutely drive all my teachers except my math teachers nuts in school because I paid absolutely no attention to their word counts on assignments and just wrote the best paper I could which usually ended up significantly longer then their word count about 70% of the time and 30% of the time was significantly shorter while still completely covering everything, and covering it well I might add, that I was supposed to cover. They would always tell me "Your paper would have been an A or A+ But I had to mark it a C because you ignored my word count !!!" And I would stubbornly insist that was because word count was an arbitrary and worthless thing that deserved to be ignored, you would not believe how many times I got marched off to the Principles Office for that. And, yup, I still march to the sound of my own drum, they never were able to beat it out of me.

Congratulations!

The word count thing also brings me back to my recent degree. On some assignments, where I wasn't that engaged, I'd struggle with getting to the word count. On my last, a research project into sovereign citizens, I had trouble keeping it DOWN to the maximum word count. To be able to say 100,000 words about something requires a lot of skill, but to shave it down to 75,000 words while keeping the quality on the same level requires real skill. I am very much looking forward to the book - particularly with the cover art you've selected.
