Update from the video; the gun has been successfully reactivated, pending an actual range test in a day or two. I just had to grind out a small weld holding the barrel into the receiver, and then my new barrel assembly dropped right in.

Ian, I think the Chauchat thing is starting to become a serious addiction! Congrats!

Anonymous

Congratulations! Can’t wait to see it in action.

I'm not sure whether you look like a kid that's been locked in a candy store after everyone has left or Ralphie when he got his Red Ryder BB gun...

New machine gun day is best day. Congratulations, sir.

Anonymous

at least you can get dies for it. But PPU will just end up doing a one off run just for you

Y'all have too much FUN Gotta Love It

Flying all over the world to look at rare guns is probably the best way to distract yourself while you spend your time waiting for NFA paperwork

I kneel before Gun Jesus. Congratulations and greetings from the Democratic People’s Republic of California DPRC

I’m very happy the new barrel went in so well. I can’t wait to see some side by side footage of both of them firing.

I have a feeling you are going to get home and put a Adrain helmet on and flip some couches over as a “trench” and have a great time.

Great news on the barrel drop in.

Hi Ian, have you ever been in Alsace? There is a crazy WW2 museum there: https://www.mmpark.fr/ one of the largest collections of vehicles, small arms, uniforms, etc..

Why does some random dude in the background has his face edited out? Is it a legal requirement of sorts?

Anonymous

You are holding it like a baby :)

John S Wren

The sheer joy on your face is a tonic for the spirit!

Anonymous

How many Chauchat do you have? 3?

Jessi Lloyd

My guess: Ian doesn't want to show the faces of anyone who hasn't given explicit consent to be shown on his channel. Not sure if that's a legal requirement, as it'll vary by jurisdiction, but it's certainly the courteous thing to do.

Is that knob of a foregrip actually any use? Seems way to close to be useful?

Bruce Brodnax

You misspelt DPRK: Democrat-run People's Republik of Kommiefornia. [Which is why the Founders opted for a federal Republic; democracies are doomed to failure...]

Bruce Brodnax

I think that was put there as an afterthought by the design committee [remember: a camel is just a horse, designed by committee!] when someone suddenly asked "What about shooting off-hand?" [ie, walking fire...] It *does* seem really poorly placed for just about any purpose...

Was that the voice of wifey?! Lol

CavScout

Tell PPU to spin up for 8mm Lebel!

Anonymous

damn it! I wish i knew when you were going to be there to pick it up so I could check it out. Come on man...

Anonymous

Is there any way to make a one time patron contribution to help buy 8mm label ammunition for video shoot or match. Last time I looked about a buck a round.

ForgottenWeapons

There's no way to do so through Patreon, but if you want to send something to admin@forgottenweapons.com on PayPal with a note about it being for Chauchat food, I would be happy to put it directly into an ammo order!

Anonymous

I sent you some on PayPal but not sure if came through if you would be so kind as to let me know.

Anonymous

Should have been once? Not sure what happened there. Wish I could send more love your contact.

DaveJD

Totally worth the extra couple bucks just to see Ian standing in a gunshop like the rest of us. I bet when you're gone they say "Jesus has left the building!"
