It might be small consolation, but the lessons learned in the shoot would probably have been discarded in favor of dual wielding two MG08s while having a trench mortar as a back-up weapon. In my experience, only Battleground's Combat Mission series makes a serious attempt to model small arms effects, and that only on an aggregate squad scale.

Dude that soooooo sucks, and is par for the course for so many small tech cos. Many of the techs workers are so insulated from the real world it is astounding.
