Content

I'm adding some behind the scenes content at a new $3 Patreon level. Not specifically gun-related stuff (although it will of course sometimes be), but rather interesting or neat things that are happening either at home or on the road. Those of you already supporting me at $3/month or more will see the first of these appearing momentarily! Those of you who are at $1 or $2 but would like to see the extra material, now is your chance to add a buck or two and join the special club. :)

Forgotten Weapons Behind the Scenes: Announcing Apocrypha

http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons I am adding a private series of video tidbits from behind the scenes at Forgotten Weapons for my Patreon supporters. They will be things I find interesting or noteworthy, but generally unrelated to guns. A couple times a week, especially when traveling. So if you want to see more about what goes on here beyond the formal video content, head over to Patreon and become one of the people who makes this all possible!

really easy sell, pledge modified :)

Very cool. I’m looking forward to some interesting apocrypha.

How about a behind the scenes of how you setup for doing a video from one of the auction houses?

Jonathon Payne

"...Like what I am going to do when I run out of single barrel bourbon." The answer is obvious: get more bourbon.

Hell yeah!

Through the help of forgotten weapons and inrangetv I've gotten my wife more into firearms. Just got her first non modern firearm a M1 carbine. She has asked if your wife helps or joins in shoots. I know she added in the cooking on inrange on British ration week. Does she do more behind the scenes?

Brandon T

The fact that this is called "Apocrypha" makes this 10000000x better than it already is...

This might just need to be an increase for me. Praise be to Gun Jesus

ForgottenWeapons

She helps with occasional filming (for instance, today's Chauchat shooting video), and also with accounting and making me dinner. :)

Sounds like a first class idea Ian! If I could offer a suggestion for an episode or two, a subject that is about history, guns and military tradition ....duelling and specifically duelling pistols. It was very a prominent factor in both English and French society in the 18th and 19th century, especially in the army. Given the collections you've had access to in your travels, I'm sure that you've had access to some very nice sets. To keep it simple, you could look at one early pair (Twigg or Wogdon), a late flint (Manton, Purdey, Egg) and a late percussion pair like a Purdey. Along the way you can color in the history and tradition of the affair. Just a thought.

I'm in. You're my favorite content provider on the web. Keep up the good work. And I'm always in favor of more bourbon.

I'm In.

My last question I sent in for inrange was if you guys had considered doing vlogs and it looks like this is close enough, very awesome, you get another dollar out of me, now I just have to explain that to the old lady.

I'll admit, I'm not a fan of exclusive/gated content, so I was a bit hesitant to bump up my subscription level. However since you have been providing stellar content on a daily basis for a long time now, I think you very much deserve the little bump in income. I would however still like to see the currently exclusive content be made available to lower tier subscribers or even non-patreons with a suitable time delay (say a month or two).

Is this the long waited forgotten whiskies? i propably have to raise my tier

What could be cool is more meetups, specially when you come to France :)

Anonymous

Very cool!

Fine ill give an extra buck

David Morris

It would all have made more sense if had watched this one first.

Dragomir

I actually asked about that bourbon on youtube and never got a response... I like to think I helped cause this.

Preferring to spread my support as widely as possible, I don't give anyone more than $1/mo. I find Up-Sells annoying enough that they tempt me to put my support elsewhere.

Anonymous

Hey, it's business, it's Ian's job to ask for more money and you are free to say, "No". I support only 3 channels; Forgotten Weapons, InRangeTV at $2 each and Sootch00 at a buck a month. So right now $5 a month is what I spend.

Anonymous

Obviously. Just stating my thoughts on it. Definitely getting tired of notifications from multiple channels I'm supporting saying "here's some more content we won't let you see because you're not giving us enough money". Suppose I'll just add an email filter to auto delete notifications from the channels doing it.

Anonymous

This should be a lot of fun. Thanks for adding this “light” content. I wondered that the heck this Apocrypha thing was that popped up on my e-mail!

Damn it, Ian. All right. <a href="https://media.giphy.com/media/amkxRknWsbWtG/giphy.gif" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://media.giphy.com/media/amkxRknWsbWtG/giphy.gif</a>
