Akane is and always will be best girl of this series, even though Kana gets some solid moments later on too. It's a real shame that the next episode was delayed though, because there are a couple of absolutely incredible scenes coming with her that 100% guarantee her position. Also, Akane's voice actress gave a flawless performance in this episode. Everything from the realistic way she spoke through tears to her insane imitation of Ai's voice, I was absolutely not prepared for that quality of a performance from her. I looked up her credits after this episode and she's almost exclusively done fairly minor side characters, with this being by far her largest role. Hopefully, she gets more work in the future because she's clearly very talented.

I'm curious as to... WHEN Akane will figure out that Ai had kids, and then if she'll end up helping Aqua find the father. They'd make a mean detective combo. Batman could never. XD

It goes by so fast, but Akane says when she sees Ai's eyes that maybe she gets them from her self confidence. That may also be the reason that no one questions Aqua and Ruby about their eye. Also Ai, Aqua, and Ruby all have white starts that seem to turn black, well not yet for Ruby thankfully, when they are angry or jaded, but Akane's stars are yellow. Just a lot of hmmmm moments to unravel. 🧐
