This has always been my favourite deepdive and helped me a lot. Happy to listen again and reflect. Btw a chat with Dr. Ramani on this topic would be fascinating! She is, to my understanding, of the very strong opinion that NPD cannot be 'cured'. And talks a lot about how people can deal with being in a relationship with someone with NPD.

I don’t want my money going to anyone except my entertainment! No charities! It’s all about me!

I had a boss that failed to properly onboard me which led to me not getting paid for 4-1/2 months. When I persisted in getting paid, she threatened me and started a campaign to get me fired by spreading lies to HR, other supervisors, and my peers. I only found out about the extent of their campaign after filing a lawsuit and getting ahold of all the emails and paper trail. It was one of the worst experiences of my life

Hi Dr Kirk Honda! I have been following your content for a while now, but am a newbie Patreon member. So happy to be able to binge-listen to your content and long format deep dives! This one is particularly interesting to me as it is such a « popular » diagnosis, what I mean is that people throw around the term a lot without knowing what it means. I have always been proud of my altruistic and empathetic behavior, but sometimes feel almost impostor syndrome finding myself wondering about my own narcissistic tendencies. It is nice to hear your well researched analysis on the matter permitting me to understand people and myself better. It was funny to me that you talked about self-referencing ways to relate to other people. This is one of the biggest tendency I find myself wondering about. I always self reference or talk about my experiences when people talk about their experiences to say in some way « I understand where you are coming from, you are not alone ». Usually, I feel bad bringing myself in others experience and often wonder how it is perceived by others. This usually leads to very interesting conversations and usually people reassure me that this tendency didn’t even occur to them as being narcissistic. But I do worry sometimes. Although I do have that sort of tendency, I do have a sense of self and do not see myself in most of the other traits. Well I will stop blabbing about myself (lol). Just a little self reflection and an interesting thought for me that flourished through your deep dive. Thank you for your time and professional insight! It is extremely interesting 🫶 Kisses from Switzerland! 🇨🇭
