Another brilliant episode and great detective work Kirk, I didn't know some of the things you speak about! You might have forgotten to mention that the reason the Duggers went to the Holts with Josh's 'transgressions' initially wasn't for Spiritual advice but because Josh was courting their daughter (apparently his first and ONLY love... foreshadowing of his horrible abuse of Anna to come) and they believed his abuse and paedophilia on his sisters was ACTUALLY cheating on his courtship NOT because they were unhappy with his behaviour. He had broken the scripture of faithfulness NOT sexual abuse 🤢 Also, the 'therapy camp' he was sent to (recommend by the Holt's I think) was in the form of helping in the building of a new compound for Bill f*cking Gothard 😳 He was actually called back to the family much earlier than recommended (ie time apart from his sisters would 'cure him' zero therapy or consequences) for Jimbob's birthday which was televised and JB wanted him there for that, I believe that was what ultimately made the Holt's call off the courtship with their daughter. I also believe there was every indication made by Jim Holt that the cop they went to initially was very much an old family friend of the Duggars though they ultimately tried to deny that once he ended up in prison for child pornography 😞

Speaking of the consequences of sharing your child online or not, I had a "learn the hard way" experience. I gave Yahoo News license to use a photo of my son for a cute little fluff piece. It was a striking side-by-side image of his ultrasound and a baby photo. They looked *exactly* the same. He always slept with his arms up over his head, and the similarity between the photos was uncanny. Yahoo did a little interview and dubbed him "The King of Taking It Easy." Cute. Something sweet to share and make people smile. Except an anti-abortion group grabbed the pic and published it in their newsletter, along with our full names and quotes they got from the yahoo article, making it seem like we support the cause and used us to ask for donations. After that, it seems like every pro-life org, mega-church pastor, right-wing influencer or pro-life mum type social media account have been sharing it. Feels like non stop. For the past 5 years. With tens to hundreds of thousands of shares every time, across all platforms. I live in a conservative area so people react like I have devil horns when I speak out against it, ask for it to be removed. If you Google my name or my son's name, you'll get all these anti-abortion returns, which I will have to explain to him one day. And now with the Supreme Court ruling, I carry the guilt of feeling like I inadvertently helped it along. I absolutely never saw any of that coming.
