I remember when you guys talked about this story in an earlier episode it helped me quit looking at my ex's social media every single day. I am reminded of it now and I'm realizing that I actually haven't thought about doing that for a long time! I think story telling is a wonderful way to inspire people. A lot of changes I made in myself where inspired by stories or songs or art. There is something about that kind of thing that just gets to me. I feel like it somehow makes difficult things sound more compelling when it's put in that kind of package. Besides the point but I would also like to inform you that you did talk about what the book was about in that other episode 😂

DCR is the outreach department who gets called when you have to involuntarily commit someone for grave disability, extreme self neglect, homicidal or suicidal ideations with plan, but which does not rise to the level of urgency of 911 and is more of an ongoing problem. Sort of like CPS but for grown ups. Unfortunately in my line of work I’ve gotten to know most of the king county ones by face if not all by name. Almost all of them are women, interestingly enough
