Dear Rebecca, thank you for being open and honest about what you’ve been through and are still going through. I share your frustration with all the dumb, daunting administrative and logistical details, and I admire your approach and attitude. It is deeply resonating. Based on my own experiences, I think that short-comings and screw-ups are inevitable because we’re human and we’re basically a one-woman army but, also, good grief, who knew that there could be so many obstacles along the way? I also kept my mom’s death certificate with me, except in my backpack. By no means are you strange or alone for doing this or even feeling that way. I am glad that I got to laugh with you while listening to the podcast. Even though I went to culinary school, I still go for protein shakes instead of cooking. Sometimes, I am indifferent towards my friend’s or relatives’ problems. I will not hold back on my cut-to-the-chase directness when people tell me how to feel or what to do. I also worry about physical ailments. Despite mourning my mom as she confronted her own illness and mortality, I get caught off guard by the raw emotions and debilitating pain that comes with grief. I feel achiness in my chest, back, temples, stomach…it can be heavy like gravity’s pressure. Exercising regularly helps alleviate it as does crying. I could keep going on, but, again thank you for sharing your experiences. I wish you healing, happiness, peace, rest, and strength for the days ahead. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I hope that you’re doing okay. Sending hugs and warm vibes, Rebecky
