Thanks Kirk and Umberto. I really enjoyed this series. Some of the highlights from my time between March 2020 until now include: 1. social distance camping in my significant other's grandparents yard during a lot of the weekends in the summer. We set up a tent, used masks, and diligently cleaned everything that both grandparents and us would touch but mainly stayed away and in there back yard but at a distance that we could still visit with them. Neither grandparent got sick from COVID so we did a great job. 2. Having my job change significantly so that my animal research lab job was now a work in front of the computer and look at histology images all day. This was a huge struggle for me to work at home as I really loved the lab work and lab environment I was in previously. This lead to 3. Realizing that I needed to change jobs after being at the same company for over nine years because the role wasn't going to change back to how I wanted so I eventually found, interviewed, and received a new job offer for a very similar lab role that I had before. All of this was remote. I interviewed over zoom with little to no interaction during my presentation so it was hard to tell how it was received but I did get an offer and started this new job in person January 2022. I've been very happy with the change.

None of this was easy for me. It was great to have more time with my significant other at home and she no longer had to commute 90 mins each way every day so she felt much happier. However I just don't work well at home and every day felt like a struggle and that the work I was doing was not significant. It all felt "fake" and out place because I had spent so hard and a lot of time to try to separate my home and work life completely in the decade prior to this. I struggled with depression, some substance abuse etc, but I'm in a better place now.

I loved this episode so much. So interesting hearing your story after your YouTube blew up. Not to mention Berto’s Only Fans. 😆 Really lifted my mood on an annoying commute, thank you so much!
