Like Dr. Honda, I, too, love learning about these malpractice cases bc of falling somewhere on the OCPD spectrum. Thank you to Bob for sharing his example of modeling an apology during session. Very vulnerable, mature, and differentiated. Also loved Bob’s quote “Being sincere is more important than not making mistakes.” Great mantra. Also, ED IOP saved my life. Can definitely see the value for EDs, not sure about other conditions. Also did RO-DBT & loved it.

Regarding IOP: I'm not sure about WA state, but MA has programs for a myriad of diagnoses. I went to program in MA for intense SI. It was even a program that is specifically for lgbt folks struggling with mental health issues. It was not for substance abuse, but a lot of folks were dually diagnosed. Rather than one appointment per day, it was an all day program - you really only went home to sleep. I think it was 3-4 weeks, with some folks staying longer, or shorter. For some, it was their next step-down from inpatient. For me, the accountability of having a supportive place to be each day with folks who understood for the first time was priceless. I learned great tools and met great people, both of which are important to me to this day.
