I found it hard to listen to Rebecca's language in the beginning. I'm not blaming her, just wanted to share, because it made me think. When people speak in terms of we/us (us jews [...]) it implies there's an us vs them and this reminds me of the way racist people speak. When people use that language it makes me feel like they are confirming the racist arguments that members of this group are different and it's ok to generalize. Maybe this is because I don't like to identify as a specific group myself or l don't like people speaking on my behalf. But either way, that was a thought provoking part of the conversation, so thank you for that.
