I’m gonna kick my own ass, WHY DID I FORGET TO DO THESE FOR SIX MONTHS

(I even had a daily reminder set for WIP/Process posts and I was just. Not ignoring them?? But it turns to white noise after a while, I hate it.)

last Month, my therapist suggested that I don’t hold myself accountable as well as I ought to BECAUSE I don’t consider myself an authority to be listened to, and a lot of the time, I FORGET that I’m trying to change that, but today, I deleted the old daily  ‘reminders’ that I’d been ignoring and made some widgets on the front page of my phone where as SOON as I open it, I see my to-do lists for the day and what’s been done already, and… well. I’m tempted to say “oh, it’ll only last so long before I have to try something new” BUT I DONT WANT TO EXPECT FAILURE SO. Let’s see how long I can keep up a productive streak!

I am currently working on that exact same issue in therapy and it's so tricky to work through. Adhd brains are complicated af. The home screen widget is a great idea that I may steal since my bullet journal stopped working for me last year and I haven't found anything else that's worked yet 😂 For the horrible fear of getting started, I like to set myself a "warm up" where I set a 15 minute timer and go as fast, furious, and sloppy as I can. I'm a writer so I'll write as many first lines or paragraphs of a scene as I can think of in the time. When I used to draw comics take scrap paper and basically scribble squares and stick figures. My other favourite warm up is to spend those 15 minutes trying to create the most boring/terrible version of what I'm working on. Then my brain rebels and comes up with something good. This one only works if you are EXTREMELY contrary, but it does work 😅 Good luck!
