December postcard - 🌙 Luminary 🌙 (Patreon)

hello friends! 

and happy December! aa, my favorite time of year. yesterday, my partner and I dove headfirst into the holiday spirit and decorated our home in the Christmas spirit. I love having Her (our tree) in the home. every time I see her she brings a smile to my face. I feel so grateful to celebrate another year. each new day brings with it new chances and experiences. 

this month's postcard piece was born out of a sketch not intended for anything. for the first time in awhile I really felt like I had given myself free reign to explore and experiment and I think it reflects in the energy I brought to this drawing. I continue to feel a great magnetism toward stars and moons and images of soft power. I truly believe that power isn't purely physical or destructive. I derive a lot of power from things that can't be seen such as raw honesty and empathy. and I genuinely believe in their ability to change our lives. 

this piece is a reflection of that soft power and how I feel when I imagine it in my mind. it's a glowing, tender thing that you hold gently in your hands and gaze upon with love and understanding. it transcends physical bounds and allows us to sit in the moment without grasping or tearing.
