making a calendar for 2020! 🌼 (Patreon)

how are you my loves? I hope you are well and taking care of yourself today~ <3 as you probably already knew from the title (stealing my own thunder...) I'M MAKING A CALENDAR! :D I'm really excited, I think the last time I made a calendar was back in....2017? 2016? the fact I can't remember the exact date just shows how long it's been. I've just finished all the sketches and wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of the pieces and my process so far! at the top of this post are 3 of the 12 drawings that will be featured in the calendar. I'm gonna start inking everything tomorrow, coloring things in after that, and then moving onto designing and laying it all out! I've got a pretty tight timeline and ideally I wish I had started this earlier, but hey, life works in funny ways and I actually think the time constraint has lent me a solid rhythm and flow with this project. :3c

In this photo is my brainstorming and rough sketch process! On the left page I listed potential themes and styles of the calendar, a brain dump if you will. It didn't take long for me to go with a plant/floral theme, my heart was pretty much set on it from the beginning. ^^;; On the right page are all my initial sketches of the pieces! I think they all came out nicely and can't wait for you to see the finished product! If there are any significant developments along the way I'll make sure to update, but for now things are proceeding smoothly~ 

I'm really jazzed about this project! It's been awhile since I've made anything other than prints and stickers, a lot of short-term and straightforward projects. Working on this calendar has been a welcome change of pace and rewarding to focus on something for a significantly longer time and really giving it all my love, care, and polish. I hope you'll like the calendar too when it comes out! I plan to have it up in my shop by late Nov/early December so you can have it ready for the new year if you're interested!
