IMPORTANT change to $10 tier !!! :O (Patreon)

whew, I'm a bit nervous about today's post but I've given it a lot of thought and want to be completely honest with you so... the time has finally come for change. 

after much deliberation, brainstorming, and planning, I've decided to revert the $10 tier back to postcard only rewards. this means that September 2019 will be the last month with both postcard and sticker rewards. I wanted to make sure I gave you all an ample heads up so I'm sharing this news a full month in advance. this change won't be happening until October 1st so if you've already pledged $10 for September you will still receive postcard and sticker rewards for this month. ^^ 

but why? you may be asking. that's a great question! :D allow me to break down my decision into three convenient reasons: 

1. other projects 📚

• I originally started making stickers for the $10 tier because I wanted to design more stickers! it was an incredible learning experience and I got to try out so many new ideas thanks to you! however, I'm at a point now where I want to turn my attention to different projects like calendars, travel journal, and larger illustrations. for a long time I thought to myself,"com'n, the sticker is just one extra piece per month how much time could that take up?" but that one extra piece could be time spent toward making a drawing for a calendar or drafting stories and layouts for the journal instead. I realized I shouldn't take that extra time so lightly.  instead of overworking myself I want to prioritize and allocate that time more smartly. 

2. cost + fee increases 💸

• it's only natural over time that fees and costs will change. postage increases steadily every year, production costs have increased, and patreon has introduced new fees in the past year alone. I've continued to keep the rewards the same without increasing the tier price to account for the additional fees and time spent designing and packaging, which stepping back from it doesn't make sense. after ruminating over several options downsizing the tier came out to be the most efficient and best solution. 

3. burn out and change 💖

• sometimes a project runs its course and the initial passion and intention you had for it begins to fade fast. I loved creating stickers for rewards. it taught me so much about design, creativity, planning, and pushing my comfort zone. however, I feel ready for something else now and I think it's only fair to both you lovely lot and myself to make things we like and enjoy the process of doing so. in all honesty I've lost that love for making these stickers and don't want to keep making them from that empty place just because I am forcing myself into obliging choices I made in the past when I was in a completely different mindset. my goal, always, is to make things to share with you that I have fun working on, because I think that's when we have the most fun together! 

so! to recap, moving forward starting Oct. 1st 2019 the $10 tier will not longer include sticker rewards. September 2019 is the last month you can receive both postcard and sticker. other than that, everything is exactly the same. I hope this will be a welcome change for us all and I want to reiterate how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to create those stickers. I think this will be best for us all and I think this new direction will allow me time for different things. <3 I completely understand if you'd prefer to change your pledge with this new information. thank you so much for your support til now and cheers to new beginnings! ^^
