✨ june postcard + sticker ✨ // the small things~ (Patreon)

hello loves! ( ´͈ ॢꇴ `͈ॢ)･*♡

how are you doing today? I hope your week is going well so far! today I'm sharing the postcard and sticker rewards for this month and of course there's a story behind them. :D I caught a nasty cold last month that lasted for the latter half of May. now, I haven't gotten sick in literal years (just luck I guess) and was starting to feel pretty chuffed about my record until this cold hit. it put me out of commission for some time and when you're sick it's really the simple comforts that put life back into you. so these pieces are an ode to that time and the healing I found in small rituals like baths or dolling up. they are processes that helped me mentally and physically when I felt nothing short of a bag of snot. 

above: this month's postcard! I do find something inherently magical about baths. they feel strangely meditative and calming. something about sitting in a large body of warm water makes me feel so safe. I wanted to convey that mystical nature in the colors whilst maintaining that sensation of relaxation. I really enjoyed designing the bathroom and customizing all the little trinkets and decor. it was like creating my own little haven, a perfect place within the world. 

and here's this month's sticker! I wanted to try something different with the border this time and discovered a newfound affinity for drawing ruffles and bows. it's just really satisfying. I used to shy away from intricate details, unhappy with how long it'd take to do by hand. but now I see it as therapeutic, as if I'm imbuing love into the lines and curves. when I was sick and had been blowing my nose for literal hours, the simple act of putting on a lip tint or doing my brows made me feel more like myself and gave me more energy. whatever way you choose to take care of yourself, I think it's important to make time for those small rituals that make you feel whole. <3
